Divisional Corporate HR partners with Anna University for Part-Time Ph.D Programmes

At L&T Construction, we believe that people are the building blocks of our organization and
a great emphasis is placed on their capability building at all levels.

Over the years, Divisional Corporate (DC) HR has collaborated with various Institutes & B-
Schools for employees to pursue higher education in Management & Technical fields.

In order to build the technical

expertise of the employees in the
areas of core engineering, DC HR
has collaborated with Anna
University for engineers to pursue
M.S (By Research) and Ph.D
Programmes on a part-time basis.
In this regard, our R&D Centre has
been recognized as an approved
Research Centre by Anna
University. This milestone was achieved after a stringent process involving submission of a
detailed application and inspection by the Committee nominated by the Anna University
including Dr. B.V. Mudgal, Professor & Director, Centre for Water Resources, Dr. H. Jane
Helena, Professor, Division of Structural Engineering, Anna University and Prof Amlan
Sengupta, IIT-Madras.

Dr. C. Jayakumar, Vice President & Head – DC HR welcomed the Inspection Committee
members and gave an overview of the organization, business structure and the scale and
complexity of our diversified projects. He shared the objective behind the affiliation with
Anna University and the pressing need for talent with specialized technical skill-sets to handle
mega projects.

As a part of the inspection process, the

team had discussions with Dr. B.
Sivarama Sarma, Head - R&D, who gave
an overview and explained the
capabilities of the R&D Centre. During
the day, the Committee Members visited
the HHL Centre.

Through this initiative, two employees

have already enrolled for the Ph.D
Programmes. Interested employees
based out of Chennai can get in touch with DC HR, L&T Construction (cctraining@lntecc.com).
For the benefit of employees who are based outside Chennai, we are exploring the option of
rolling out the programme online
