2019 discusses the pros and cons of social media. It gives 5 pros and 5 cons and explains each

pro and con into depth. The writer’s purpose in this article is to compare and contrast the benefits

and non-benefits of social media. I believe the article is for everyone, but mainly targeting teens

because teens are mainly the people who are most active on social media. I think the author is

credible because they leave all their social media information and the website is authentic. I will

use this information mainly for my counter argument.

aspects of social media. The article mainly focuses on how social media disconnects people in

real life and how times have really changed. I think the writer’s purpose was the get his opinion
out there based on what studies have shown. The audience for this article is intended for

everyone. The article is credible because he uses real life studies and results with diagrams, to

help back up his statements.

PostBeyond posted in May of 2019 is a very useful source. This gives you information on social

media experts and who you need to follow to become more knowledgeable. The author wrote

this to make it easier for people to figure out the best social media experts and who to go to for

any questions. I think the target audience is for people whom are not educated on social media as

thoroughly as they want to be. The article is credible because all the experts named are actual

social media experts and the author posted on an authentic site.

that compares both sides to this argument very well. The author wrote this article to educate

people on how social media could be bad or good, even both. The target audience is for

everyone, but it could be more for teens since they are more social media active. I believe the

article is credible because they posted a great video to back up all the information given and the

site has great information on a lot of different topics.

useful and credible source for my research topic. This article gives examples on how universities

are using social media to their advantage. I think the target audience for this article is students

enrolled in college because the website is a university. The article is credible because it is written

on a university’s website.

teens and young adults. The article is credible because it gives multiple references at the end of

the article.

The purpose of the article was to promote social media and educate others with the benefits of
using it. The target audience is everyone, I think the author wants everyone to know the

important of social media. This article and author is credible because he gives reliable

information about himself and other articles he wrote.
