INTRODUCTION
The system developed in this project, is mobile as well as web application .it uses smart phones
of android and web service on computer. The main objective of the project is to develop an
application that provides smart and easy way of executing several academic operation of the
college.

The system will provides the students with information regarding to their compliant on their
education, placement when the choose departments, general and important notices regarding to
all department of the college.
The system provides the student fast, simple, and efficient way of accessing any information
regarding to their education on time through their mobile in the form of notification.
This academic web portal has four types of users:
I. Student.
II. Teacher.
III. Head of Department and.
IV. Principal of the college.
They will have privileges according to their designation and have right to post things on
application, so other users can view that if they have supposed to have permission to view it.
We also provide multiple features so that they can have all academic things and information at
one location.
Head of department and college principal will provide feature to look all over the application and
have controlling it.
OBJECTIVE

General objective
The main objective of the project is to develop an application that provides smart and easy way
of executing several academic operation of the college.

Specific Objectives:
 To shorten data-processing time: In processing the data, it will not consume
much time to process.
 Reduce errors: Through this system, errors will be avoided because the system
will be easy to use.
 Improve the accuracy of input: It will help the users to avoid mistakes regarding
the data that they will give. There will be accurate information.
 Give information easily and efficiently: It will make easier to give information
for the user.
 Data reliability: It gives users the assurance that the information they see is
reliable and on time.
 Data security: It ensures that data is kept safe from corruption, spam and that
access to it is suitably controlled. Thus data security helps to ensure privacy. It also
helps in protecting personal data.

EXISTING SYSTEM
The limitation of existing system:
 Existing system contains Manual work and the chance of error is more.
 Requires many departments to handle variety of tasks and involves lot of paper work.
 Notices are circulated all over college class by class manually or they are displayed on
the board .that it may or may not have been reviewed
 There would be lack of follow-ups and coordination.
 Material sharing and distribution to the student is manual and require a lot papers and
duplicates, so this is costly.
 There is no automation and centralization of records.
 Loss of records is likely to occur, as it is paperwork
 Staffs communicate with Head of department by meeting face to face.
 No provision for lost and found.
 Excessive use of paper and other resources.
 Tracking record is tedious job.

PROPOSED SYSTEM
The main aim in developing this web portal is to add mobility and automation to the process of
managing academic operation in an institute. The system bridges this gap between the end-
users and the contrivance planning managers by providing centralized control over the
entire system. Different departments utilize the system for sequencing different processes that
are isolated apart.

The system synchronizes the working of all the depertments.it checks all aspects of college, its
students, faculties, departments, news, facilities and other co-curricular activities

We describe a mobile application for distributing campus information among students. The
concept of developing campus web portal is to ensure that student can access information at any
time, at any locations which is of interest and relevant to them.

Our task is performed:

A. Alerts/Notification: Alerts are to be send to all the students in the college.

B. File sharing: In this admin can also share the file suppose assignment so the file will
be uploaded on in respective format.

C. Fest Information: Student can view details of schedules for various events. This
will help students keep better track of extracurricular activities and events.

D. Post Request: If the student wants to post a query to the professor then they can send
the alert to professor and professor can reply to that alert by posting a comment to that
particular student. Additionally, if the college wants to post general notices notice and
important notices regarding to all departments they send notification to the all
departments.

E. Library Information: The student could get all the information of which all books
and latest magazines are available in college library.

SCOPE
 The proposed system will provide Discussion forum. It is a feature where students and
teachers can discuss the queries from the students.
In this discussion forum
o The teacher can upload notes ,respond to student query on perspective subjects .
 All the users involved in that discussion gets a notification on their device.
 The student can put forth their queries and at the same time upload any notes.
 The admin can extract useful information can extracted from an unstructured data
using the concept of information retrieval, filtering and secure random algorithm.

 The student will summit the case regarding to any academic operation to the concerning
body.
 The admin can do case summery.
 The proposed system provides a way to maintain records. All users get the information
without delays because of the real time use of proposed system.it helps to reach to every
student and faculties in the college in very less time.
 The students can view notifications provided by the interface provided by application.
 Head of department can monitor the case only available options like all student, all
faculty, specific faculty and to all.
 It will provide News and Event service .As university/college is released on the
university/college website, a notification is sent to all the students and staff.
 Exam remainder: This feature is available for the students. They can set remainders
for their exams accordingly

ADVANTAGE

 Mobility and automation is added to the process of managing academic operation in a an


institute.
 The application will greatly simplify and speed up the result preparation and management
process.
 The system is easy to deploy, safe with convenient operations.
 Access to authorized personnel only.
