Philippine President and Vice-President:

1. natural born citizen of the Philippines


2. registered voter
3. able to read and write
4. at least 40 years of age on the day of election
5. resident of the Philippines for at least 10 years immediately preceding the
election.
6. term-6 years, starting June 30 following the day of the election, President
not eligible for any re-election, VP-2-successive term limit

Presidential/VP Electoral Tribunal


1. Supreme Court sitting en banc

Philippine Senators:
1. natural born citizen of the Philippines
2. at least 35 years old on the day of the election
3. able to read and write
4. registered voter
5. resident of the Philippines for not less than 2 years immediately preceding
the day of the election
6. 24 senators, term-6 years starting June 30 following the election, 2-term
limitation

Philippine Congressmen (District Representative):


1. natural born citizen of the Philippines
2. on the day of the election at least 25 years old
3. able to read and write
4. registered voter in the district in which he shall be elected
5. resident thereof for a period of not less than 1 year immediately preceding
the day of the election.
6. 250 members, term-3 years starting June 30 following their election, 3-yr
term limitation

SET/HRET
1. 9 members= 3 SC justices + 6 members of the Senate or HR, chosen on
the basis of proportional representation from the political parties and
party-list organizations , Chairman is the Senior Justice
Commission on Appointment
1. President of Senate, ex-officio Chairman
2. 12 Senators
3. 12 members of HR
4. chosen on the basis of proportional representation from the political
parties and party-list organizations

Party-List Representative (Sectoral representative):


1. natural born citizen of the Philippines
2. able to read and write
3. resident of the Philippines for a period not less than 1 year immediately
preceeding the day of the election
4. bona fide member of the sector he seeks to represent
5. on the day of the election is at least 25 years old BUT in case of youth
sectoral representative, at least 25 years and not more than 30 years old at
the day of the election
6. 20 percent of the total representatives

SC Justices:
1. Natural-born citizen of the Philippines;
2. at least 40 years of age;
3. a judge in a court of record for at least 15 years or engaged in the
practice of law in the Philippines for the same period; and
4. a person of proven competence, integrity, probity and independence.
They hold office during good behavior until they reach the age of 70
years or become incapacitated to discharge the duties of their office.
They can be removed only by impeachment. Grounds for impeachment
include conviction of culpable violation of the Philippine Constitution,
treason, bribery, other high crimes, or graft and corruption.
5. SC: composed of one CJ and 14 Assoc. Justices

Judicial and Bar Council


1. CJ as ex-officio Chairman

6. Term: Chairman-7 years, one Comm-5 years, the other one-3 years
7. No reappointment
8. No appointment in a temporary or acting capacity

Commission on Elections
1. Chairman + 6 Commissioners
2. Natural-born
3. 35 yrs of age at the time of appointment
4. Holder of a college degree
5. Not candidates for any elective position immediately preceding their
appointment
6. Majority including the Chairman shall be members of the Phil. Bar who
have been engaged in the practice of law for at least 10 years
7. Term: Chair-7 years, 3 comm- 7 years, 2 Comm-5 years, 1 Comm-3
years
8. No reappointment
9. No appointment in a temporary or acting capacity

Commission on Audit
1. Chairman + 2 Commissioners
2. Natural-born
3. 35 yrs of age at the time of appointment
4. CPA with not less than 10 years of auditing experience or members
of the Phil. Bar who have been engaged in the practice of law for at
least 10 years
5. Not candidates for any elective position immediately preceding their
appointment
6. No time shall all members belong to the same profession
7. Term: Chairman-7 years, one Comm-5 years, the other one-3 years
8. No reappointment
9. No appointment in a temporary or acting capacity

Ombudsman:
1. One Ombudsman, one overall deputy, and at least one deputy each for
Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and one separate deputy for the military
establishment
2. Natural-born
3. 40 yrs
4. Of recognized probity and independence
5. Members of the Phil. Bar
6. Not candidates for any elective position immediately preceding their
appointment
7. 10 yrs or more engaged in the practice of law or as a judge (Only the
Ombudsman, not his deputies)
8. Term: 7 years
9. Not qualified to run for any office in the election immediately
succeeding their cessation from office
Commission on Human Rights
1. Chairman + 4 members
2. Natural-born
3. Majority members of the Bar

Philippine Local Officials:


1. citizen of the Philippines
2. on the day of election at least 23 years old for Governor, Vice-Governor,
member of sangguniang panlalawigan, mayor, vice-mayor, sangguniang
panglungsond in highly urbanized cities; while at least 21 years old for the
said officials in component cities and municipalities; at least 18 years old for
members of the sangguniang panglungsod, sangguniang bayan and
sangguniang barangay and punong barangay; at least 15 years old and not
more than 21 years of age for Sangguniang kabataan.
3. able to read and write FIlipino or any other local language or dialect
4. registered voter in the constituency in the locality
5. resident thereof for a period of not less than 1 year immediately preceding
the day of the election
