 WORD STRESS is the EMPHASIS on one syllable.EMPHASIS is to stress the
important syllable LOUDLY and all the other syllables QUIETLY .

 When a syllable is stressed, it is pronounced .

 longer in duration
 higher in pitch
 louder in volume
