 Getting Started
ABOUT ORION
ORION is a functionally rich and sophisticated enterprise-wide information solution. Highly
scalable and technologically superior, ORION enables you to integrate all areas of your
businesses and increases operational efficiency across your enterprise.

About ORION setup program

ORION setup program is the standard tool to initiate ORION installation on the target Windows
system.

About ORION setup distribution

ORION setup for Windows is distributed on CD/DVD-ROM. A printed ORION setup Installation
guide is also available in the product pack.

CHECKLIST
The following are the pre-requisites to install the ORION application.

Hardware Requirements
‰ Processor – Intel P4 / Xeon
‰ Hard disk drive requirement – 20 GB (5 GB or above in windows volume drive)
‰ Memory requirement (RAM) – 1 GB
‰ CD / DVD Drive

Software Requirements
The system needs to have the following software in the system

‰ Platform requirement – Windows based network operating system (NT 4.1 / 2000 /
XP)
‰ Oracle 10g and later
‰ Forms 6.0 (Forms Runtime) Version 6.0.8.26.0
‰ Dot Net Framework 2.0
‰ IIS v5.1 and above

PREPARING TO INSTALL ORION SETUP

The following steps enable the user to install and setup ORION in an efficient way:

Contents in CD/DVD-ROM
The Setup.exe available in the path enables the user to install ORION. The Setup.exe screen is
displayed as follows:

 1. Double-click on the Setup.exe. The ‘Install Shield Wizard’ screen is displayed as follows:

The following ORION Installation kit screen is displayed after few seconds:

 2. Click ‘Next’ to proceed with the installation. The Welcome screen is displayed as
follows:

3. Click ‘Cancel’. The Confirmation screen is displayed as follows:

 4. Click ‘No’ to continue with the installation process or click ‘Yes’ to cancel.

If you click 'Cancel' at any phase of the installation process, the installation process
stops and you exit from the Setup screen.

The Cancellation screen is displayed as follows:

5. Click ‘Next’ in the Welcome Screen, the ‘License Agreement’ screen is displayed as
follows:

This screen describes the license agreement.

6. Accept the License Agreement to proceed the installation further.

It is not possible to proceed with installation without accepting the agreement

ORION Destination Location Change Screen

To change the destination folder,

7. Click ‘Change’.

For Example: To change the destination path from (C:\Program Files\3i Infotech Ltd\) to (E :\).
The ‘Change Current Destination Folder’ screen is displayed as follows:

8. Select a different destination folder.

9. Click ‘OK’.

10. Click ‘Next’ in the ‘Destination Folder’ screen. The ‘Ready to Install the Program’ screen
is displayed as follows:

The ‘Ready to Install the Program’ screen displays information about the following:

‰ Setup Type
‰ Destination folder
‰ User Information

Installation Startup Screen

To Install ORION,

11. Click ‘Install’. ORION Installation screen is displayed as follows:

The installation process begins.

New Oracle User Creation Screen
To create a New Oracle User,

12. Select the ‘New Oracle User’ option

13. Enter ‘User Name’ and ‘Password’ for the new user to be created.

14. Enter service name in ‘SID’.

15. Enter ‘Port’ number.

16. Enter ‘Server’ IP address where oracle is installed.

17. Enter the Oracle system administrator password that validates the new user to connect
to the existing database.

If any mandatory field is not entered, then the mandatory prompt is displayed.

Working Tablespace creation screen

To create a Working Tablespace,

 18. Enter the working tablespace name.

19. Enter the ‘File path 1’. (Path of the file name which stores the table space).

20. Enter the ‘File path 2’ (if the file name is split).

21. Enter the ‘Size’ of the tablespace in MB.

‰ You are allowed to create more than one file by specifying in file path 2 to
improve storage and retrieval management.
‰ Select the ‘Default Values’ check box to automatically default the values

Index Tablespace creation screen

To create Index Table space,

22. Click on the Index tab.

 23. Enter the index tablespace Name.

24. Enter the ‘File path 1’.(Path of the file name which stores the table space)

25. Enter the ‘File path 2’ (if the file name is split)

26. Enter the ‘Size’ of the tablespace in MB.

You are allowed to create more than one file by specifying in file path 2 to improve
storage and retrieval management.

27. Select Default values check box to automatically display default values.

Existing Oracle User Creation Screen

To select an existing Oracle User,

 28. Enter User name and password in the respective fields.

29. Enter service name in the ‘SID ‘field.

30. Enter ‘Port’ number.

31. Enter ‘Server’ IP address where oracle is installed.

32. Enter Oracle system user password that validates the user to connect to the existing
database.

The existing oracle user objects needs to be empty.

Existing Oracle User Creation Screen – (Working Table space

creation)
For an existing Oracle User,

 33. Enter the ‘Name’ of the working tablespace already created.

Existing Oracle User Creation Screen – (Index Table space creation)

For an existing Oracle User,

34. Enter the ‘Name’ of the index tablespace already created.

Company Details screen

To enter the Company Details,

The screen displays the company code, name of the company and the start date of the financial
year. You are allowed to modify the details.

35. Click ‘Next’ to navigate to the ‘Base Currency Details’ screen.

Base Currency Details screen

Based on the currency selected the other field values are automatically displayed.

You are allowed to modify the Currency Decimal and Currency Format, if required.

Summary Details screen

This screen displays the details entered during the installation process:

 To modify the entered details click the back button on the respective intermediary
screen.

Setup screen
The Setup screen is displayed as follows:

- Icon is displayed when the operation is in execution.

- Icon is displayed once the operation is completed.

- Click this Icon to view the log files.

Setup Completion screen

The Setup Completion screen is displayed as follows:

 37. Click ‘Finish’ to complete the installation process.

PRODUCT REGISTRATION
The Product Registration screen enables you to register the product.

Product Registration Welcome Screen

The following Welcome screen displays the summary of the license detail currently available:

38. Select the required option button. It is possible to register the product in the following
ways:

‰ Register your product by Internet

‰ Register your product by Email

Active internet connection is required if the registration process is performed through

internet. Registration process is skipped by selecting the ‘Register later’ option.

If you have selected the Register Later,

39. Select any one of the following step to register the product whenever required:

‰ Click (Product Registration) icon in the desktop

‰ Go to Start All Programs ORION 10.6 Product Registration

40. Click ‘Register now’ button. A confirmation message is displayed as follows:

Product Registration by Internet

41. Click ‘Yes’ to register the product. On successful registration, the following success
message is displayed.

42. Click ‘OK’ to exit the screen.

Schema Details Screen

43. Click ‘Schema Details’ tab in the ‘Welcome to Product Registration’ screen to view the
schema details furnished during the installation process.

Product Registration by Internet – Completion
The Product Registration Completion screen is displayed as follows:

44. Click ‘Finish’ to complete the registration process.

Current License Info Screen
45. Click the ‘License Info’ tab. The current license information which is generated after the
registration process is displayed below:

46. Check the information displayed which is based on the CFO request.

47. Click ‘Print’ to print the License info.

Product Registration by Email

Product registration by email is done by sending mail to 3i–Infotech Ltd.

48. Click ‘Register your product by Email’ option as shown below:

 49. Click ‘Request’ to send the current info to 3i infotech ltd in the following screen.

Request - Product Registration by Email

The content of the license information is displayed for validation as shown below:

Send Mail - Product Registration by Email
Product.txt file is attached automatically to the mail which contains the license information. The
‘Open folder’ option shows the location of the product file.

Configuration - Product Registration by Email

The following steps needs to be performed after 3i-Infotech ltd issues confirmation of license.

50. Open the license file sent by 3i –Infotech ltd by clicking browse option.

 51. Click ‘Register Now’ to proceed with registration process. A success message is
displayed once the registration is completed successfully

Finish Screen
The Finish screen is displayed as follows:

52. Click ‘Finish’ to exit from the setup.
