Fagin walked up and down the room, with a wallet,
handkerchief, and a watch placed in different pockets. He
pretended to be an old man looking into a shop window .Then the
boys crowded round him took wallet, handkerchief, and a watch
from his pockets.

the magistrate that he had seen two other boys steal Mr.
Brownlow and run away.
