The graph explains the figure of fish, lamb, beef and chicken consumed in several countries in Europe

during 1979 to 2004. Overall the amount of fish, lamb and consumption dropped gradually. On the other
hand, the trend of chicken consumption shows an upward trend.

In 1979, Beef was the most popular food eaten by people around 220 grams per person per week.. Lamb
and chicken were eaten in similar quantities around 150 grams while fish was the least favourite one
eaten only around 55 grams per person per week.

However, during the 25 year periode, the consumption of beef and lamb dropped significantly to
approximately 100 and 60 grams per person per week respectively. In contrast the trend of chicken
consumption rose sharply to around 250 grams overtaking lamb and beef. Apart from a slight
fluctuation, the amount of fish consumption was stable around 50 grams per person per week during
the period.
