Sogie Bill
We must have an equal right and respect to all,we should not discriminate them
because they are humans too.The Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression Equality
Bill, also known as the Anti-Discrimination Bill (ADB), is a proposed legislation of the Congress of
the Philippines. It is intended to prevent various economic and public accommodation-related
acts of discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation, gender identity or
expression.
We do not need an Anti-Discrimination or SOGIE Equality law because Filipinos
are inherently accepting of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders. Our society is innately
tolerant of LGBTs. Proof of this would be the many Filipino LGBTs who are very successful in their
respective fields: business, trade, media, education, fashion, healthcare, law, I.T., science and
technology, arts, show business and even politics.A good example of this is Vice Ganda he is a
gay/comedian,he makes people happy and also a successful actor.There are many laws that
safeguard the rights of every citizen against discrimination like Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of
1964. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, as amended, protects employees and job applicants from
employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin.Also in The 1987
Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, Article XIII,section 1 stated that "The Congress
shall give highest priority to the enactment of measures that protect and enhance the right of all
the people to human dignity, reduce social, economic, and political inequalities, and remove
cultural inequities by equitably diffusing wealth and political power for the common good".This
laws are were implemented for humans and they want to take it away.According to Republic act
no. 386an act to ordain and institute the Civil Code of the Philippines,article 3"Ignorance of the
law excuses no one from compliance therewith".which means if the sogie bill was pass they are
violating other laws,laws about discrimination and also the person behind the bill will be acuse.

The LGBTQ must not be discriminated in our society hence we cannot deny the fact
that there are many LGBTQ member who is successful.And the government must read the laws
about anti- discrimination.
