At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
a. Explain the concept of citizenship (HUMSS_PG12-IId-13);
b. Assess the various avenues for citizen participation (HUMSS_PG12-IId-14); and
c. Illustrate the value of citizenship (HUMSS_PG12-IId-15)

5 and you will be tasked to write or list

Now, who can define Citizenship? Citizenship is a term denoting membership of a
citizen in a political society.
Excellent! Like Filipinos, Americans, Africans,
Japanese etc. We can say that we have our own
membership in society.

Do you know the ways we acquire our citizenship, We acquire it when we were born!

Very good! What else? By blood relations!

That’s right!

We have two (2) ways to acquire our citizenship.


First, the Voluntary method by which
naturalization, cessation, conquest and treaty. The
second one, is Involuntary method by birth,
birthplace and blood relations.

What is our basis in acquiring citizenship? It is in our law.

Excellent! It is found in 1987 Philippine Constitution,


article IV.

“Differentiated Activity”
The class will be divided into four (4) groups. Each
group will be given a task regarding the duties
and obligations as students that may contribute in
building a better community. (The students are actively participating in the
activity.)
Discuss with your group mates the task given to
you for eight minutes. Group 1: (Slogan Making)
After collaborating and brainstorming regarding
your activity, you will present it to the class. Points Group 2: (Song Composition)
will be given to each group based on the rubrics

ABSTRACTION

What is the implication/importance of knowing


your duties and obligations being a Filipino
Citizen? Being a student, it is our right to practice our
duties and obligations to participate also in
different activities in the community.

Filipino citizen?

As a Filipino citizen, we need to be loyal,


obedient and cooperative in our community
and country.

Therefore, as citizens of our country we should
balance our emphasis on duties and obligations
to become effective and helpful.

IV. EVALUATION

Answer the following and write the correct answer in ¼ sheet of paper.

1-2. Give at least two re-acquisition of citizenship.


3-4. Give the 2 ways of losing citizenship.
5. State section 1 in article IV of 1987 constitution and explain it briefly.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Identify a particular activity that you wish to engage in your barangay and explain it why.
