Hello ~ This is Kim.

In the morning, we feel the winter approaching freezing temperatures. Time is so fast ...

As I mentioned earlier, this time we will look at the Civil Task.

The biggest problem with SP3D is CAS, that is, Civil, Architecture, and Structure. In particular, the
Civil part was very weak. So, many companies have modeled Civil-related modeling as Equipment.

This time, there is a complement to the lack of civil modeling in the Intergraph through the Civil Tas
k. Therefore, Trench modeling seems to have a lot of advantages. We anticipate that BM or Drawin
g can also be created in SP3D. However, it is a pity that many of the Civil Items are not yet importa
nt Paving or Road.
Speaking with the Civil Task staff, I think the Paving & Road will be resolved in the next year.

Then, before entering the Civil Task, you must have S3D 2014 R1 Hotfix 12 or higher to use the Ci
vil Task. You should also use the latest version of the Training Dataset to follow the next Lab.

So let's start by saying that installation is complete.

If SharedContent is in the Custom path, copy the file from [Product Folder] \ 3DRefdata \ SharedCo
ntent \ Bin \ Civil to Sharedcontent in the Custom path.

If you want to use the Civil Task on your existing plant, you need to update the Civil Task Schema.
In Project Management, select Tool> Custom Command, enter as below and execute.

When you run it, you will see a window like the one below, select the CDB and MDB you want, and
be sure to select Regenerat.
Run the Report Database.
If there is a schema change, you must update CDB, MDB and RDB sequentially.

Then, bulkload in AMD mode by selecting the files in [Product Folder] \ CatalogData \ BulkLoad \ A
dditionalDataFiles \ Delta2014to2014R1 in the following order.

For Schema Upgrades and Bulkloads, you do not need to use the latest Traning Dataset.

Start S3D and select Template.

Then click Tasks> Configuration Task List.
Then add Civil on the left to the Task List on the right.

You will see that Civil has been added in the Task List.

This will allow you to use the Civil Task. The problem is that you must do this each time you create
a new Session file. It might be a bit annoying, but if you make a Civil session file and continue to u
se it, there seems to be no big problem. The reason for the above phenomenon was originally that
S3D 2014R1 was supposed to be available from Civil Task. However, due to the lack of completen
ess of Civil Task, we first released S3D 2014R1 and activated Civil Task through Hotfix. Therefore,
I expect that the problem will disappear from S3D 2016.

This is the start of a full-fledged Civil Task.

There are several basic Trench Cross Section Types provided by Intergraph.
For your reference, you will need to make additional cross sections for your project.

In the Civil Task, Trench is basically similar to Pipe. The basic composition of Run and Feature Par
t is the same, but additional part is composed of three parts, Footing, Slab, and Wall.

In the case of Trench Modeling, Wall is similar. Modeling is done by selecting a modeling property
and specifying path. For modeling method, if you tried the existing Piping or Cable Tray, it seems t
hat there will be no difficulty.

However, there is one unique thing about Trench, the Placement Method. Trench has a slope by d
efault. As a result, modeling methods vary depending on the Slop.
To explain this briefly ...

1. the Define START and END invert Elevation : Top Elevation Path of the starting point as show
n in the figure below (2), Bottom Elevation (3 ), the end point Bottom Elevation (4), the rest of the T
rench Thickness (5) as a kind of starting point Part 6 to 10 are automatically calculated.

2. Define start depth and end invert elevation : The top 6 levels of the path and the starting poin
t (2), the depth of the starting point (3), the bottom elevation of the end point (4), and the trench thi
ckness (5) It is calculated automatically.

3. Define start invert elevation and bottom slop : 6 ~ 10 parts are automatically modeled with P

ath and Start Top and Bottom Elevation (2,3)
Goand Slope (4) Trench Thickness (5).

4. Define start depth and bottom slope : Calculate the remaining 6-10 parts using the Top Elevat
ion (2), Depth (3) and Slope (4), and Trench Thickness (5) of the Path and Start Point.

5. Define start depth (Bottom slope is parallel to top slope) : calculated Path and the Top Eleva
tion (2), Depth ( 3) and Slope (4), Trench Thickness ( 5) , but the starting point, Slope is the Bottom
Top of Slope Modeling is the same as
With reference to the modeling method above, you can model in a way that suits your needs. The
actual modeling is too much for me to explain, so if you can model it at your convenience, you will
be able to do it right away.

We hope to create a better output through the new feature Civil Task.

Have a nice day ~

Thank you.
