    TENSES

    Tenses is a form of sentence based on the period of time which is showed by


    verb changes.

    The characteristics of tense:

    1. Present : V1/am, is are


    2. Past : V2/ was,were
    3. Future : will/would + V1
    4. Continuous : to be + V1 ing
    5. Perfect : Have/has/had + V3

    I. Pattern of Verbal sentence ( using Verb ):

    NO TENSES PATTERN
    1 Present Tense S + V1 + O/C
    2 Past Tense S + V2 + O/C
    3 Present Continuous S + to be present (am/is/are) + V1 ing + O/C
    4 Past Continuous S + to be past (was/were) + V1 ing + O/C
    5 Present Future S + will + V1 + O/C
    6 Past Future S + would + V1 + O/C
    7 Present Perfect S + have/has + V3 + O/C
    8 Past Perfect S + had + V3 + O/C
    9 Present Perfect Continuous S + have/has + been + V1 ing + O/C
    10 Past Perfect Continuous S + had + been + V1 ing + O/C

    Example:

    NO TENSES PATTERN
    1 Present Tense I work in the office every day
    2 Past Tense I worked in the office yesterday
    3 Present Continuous I am working in the office now
    4 Past Continuous I was working in the office yesterday
    5 Present Future I will work in the office tomorrow
    6 Past Future I would work in the office last Monday
    7 Present Perfect I have worked in the office today
    8 Past Perfect I had worked in the office yesterday
    9 Present Perfect Continuous I have been working in the office since
    morning
    10 Past Perfect Continuous I had been working in the office when she
    came last week
    II. Pattern of Non Verbal sentence ( using Adjective, Noun and Adverb ):

    NO TENSES PATTERN
    1 Present Tense S + to be present ( am/is/are ) + O
    2 Past Tense S + to be past ( was/were ) + O
    3 Present Continuous S + to be present (am/is/are) + being + O
    4 Past Continuous S + to be past (was/were) + being + O
    5 Present Future S + will + be + O
    6 Past Future S + would + be + O
    7 Present Perfect S + have/has + been + O
    8 Past Perfect S + had + been + O
    9 Present Perfect Continuous S + have/has + been + being + O
    10 Past Perfect Continuous S + had + been + been + being + O

    Example :

    NO TENSES PATTERN
    1 Present Tense We are busy every day
    2 Past Tense We were busy yesterday
    3 Present Continuous We are being busy at the moment
    4 Past Continuous We were being busy last night
    5 Present Future We will be busy next week
    6 Past Future We would be busy last week
    7 Present Perfect We have been busy today
    8 Past Perfect We had been busy yesterday
    9 Present Perfect Continuous We have been being busy since two hours ago
    10 Past Perfect Continuous We had been being busy when she came
