Course Objectives:
The students will be exposed to various facets of Personal Financial Management specially for High Net Worth Individuals. After the course, the students will
be able to work as Relationship Manager/ Personal Financial Advisors in Banks/ NBFCs.
Prerequisites:
Students should be aware of finance concepts. Student should have the basic knowledge of financial planning and some financial products.
Course Contents/Syllabus:

Indian Financial and Investment Industry- Basic Concepts,, The Financial System, 10%
Features of Securities and Financial Markets in India, Participants in the Indian Finance
System, Financial Services, Indian Economic Environment- Indian Economy, Economic
Policies and Macroeconomics, Business Cycles.
Understanding client and his requirements, Assessing the risk of client or 20%
assessing risk tolerance of client, different types of asset allocation, Selection
models for asset classes, Measurement techniques and MIS.
Concept of life & health insurance, Risk management through insurance, 20%
Different products for retirement planning, managing retirement corpus.

Different strategies tax planning for clients, Deductions, Capital gain, set off
and carry forward, Dividend tax STT, Tax on various securities, Drafting of a
Will, Types, Legal Frame Work, Administration of Will, Execution of a Will
Different structured financial products shall be discussed, use of technology / softwares 10%
will be discussed, data of real time shall be taken to make students aware of latest
changes in the economy.
Student Learning Outcomes: By the end of this course the students will be able to:
• Analyse the factors that need to be considered when advising a High Net Worth client.
• Evaluate a client’s needs, assess their options, develop solutions and justify recommendations.
• Analyse the core services of a wealth management division.
• Analyse alternative investment strategies with reference to empirical evidence.
• Investigate contemporary issues that impact upon the wealth management service and assess their relevance.
