Tyron Justine O. Padua is a graduate of Computer Science from ICI-La Consolacion

University-Philippines and is a Baybayin enthusiast. His thesis entitled, “SALIN: Baybayin
Translator Application” won the Best Thesis Award last May 2019. SALIN is an educational
mobile app, serving as companion for those who wanted to learn the Baybayin script, the
ancient system of writing of the Filipinos and now available in the Google Play Store for
download.

Padua is also a graphic artist and spends his free time providing freelance layout
services from his online business, Chinito Thoughts, under the pseudonym of Justine Kim.
He also served as the Editor-in-Chief of ICI Heights, the official student publication of his
alma mater from 2017-2018. It is during his incumbency that laws are ratified since it is one
of his self-earned expertise and still studying to learn more about it. One of his prominent
outputs is the issuance of Motu Proprios in order to address a certain issue in a more complex
and constructive way, aside in writing his editorial. He also authored the first edition of the
Administrative and Organizational Manual of ICI Heights, several memoranda, and Circulars
which played a vital role in strengthening the official student publication.

Known for his advocacies in terms with language, Padua together with his team
competed last Aug 2017 for the first-ever Bill Drafting Contest of the House of
Representatives. His team is one of those who had been chosen to the finals, and principally
authored the proposed bill entitled, “Pagsasalin ng Batas sa mga Wika ng Pilipinas.” Padua
is also active in the church’s ministry, serving as Lector and Commentator for La Purisima
Concepcion Parish, Diocese of Malolos. He is also one of the youth-delegates during the
2015 Apostolic Visit of Pope Francis during the Encounter with the Youth last 18 Jan 2015
at the University of Santo Tomas.

He is still active today in ICI Heights as its General Secretariat and member of the
Editorial Board. Also, he is appointed as Commissioner of the Conference on Constitutional
Revisions and Rules of Proceedings of the Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral na Nakapagtapos
(SaMaNa), the sole alumni association of ICI Heights. For now, Padua together with the
SALIN team, formulizes and finalizes programs for Baybayin education and set to be kick-
offed next year. He is also a member of the Youth Alliance for Freedom of Information since
May 2019.
