profile there is less chance for fiber
or contamination accumulation further
improving hydraulics.
For segmented plates each segment
has equal fields with a master groove
in between each segment which im-
proves the hydraulic capacity of the
plates. Older designs have partial
fields on each edge of the segments
where the bars don’t align causing a
flow disruption and a pinch point which
is detrimental to fiber development.
