Torque is defined as the torsional capacity of rotating objects around a fixed axis. In other
words, it is the multiplication of the force and the shortest distance between the point of
application of the force and the fixed axis. From the definition, it can also be inferred that,
the pair is a vector quantity that has both direction and magnitude. However, since it is
rotating around a fixed axis its direction can be clockwise or counterclockwise. Next, the
analysis procedure will be explained in the form of a step-by-step.
1. We proceeded to place the material to the piece, a 1060 aluminum alloy was chosen,
since the purpose for this assembly is that it does not serve as a shelf to place various
objects in the home, therefore, it should be light and easy transport.
2. 2. Fixed fasteners were placed on the flat faces of one of the intermediate supports,
a fixed fastener with a cylindrical face was also placed. (Figure 1)

3. We add a torsional force to the bar with a value of 250 N equivalent to an over
tightening by the automated machine that makes the assembly. (Figure 2)

4. Finally, the meshing control is carried out to the size of the piece and the solution
was executed by the system. (Figure 3)

Resultados.
1. Tension the von Mises
As a result of tension, we have a minimum of 2,375e + 03 N / m ^ 2; a maximum of 1,343e
+ 08 N / m ^ 2 as shown in the following figure 4:

2. Resulting displacements.
After a minimum displacement of 1,000e + 30 mm and a maximum of 8,528e-03 mm, the
maximum is located in middle of the rod.

Figure 5 Result of resulting displacements.

3. Equivalent unit deformation.
A minimum of 1,410e-10 mm was deformed at the top of the assembly and a maximum of
1,574e-05 mm on one of the intermediate supports. (Figure 6)

Figure 6 Equivalent unit deformation

Conclusion:
The large amount of applied torsional force generated many havocs in the piece since in
tension forces the program tells us that the maximum stress of tensions exceeds the elastic
limit of the aluminum, due to the deformation obtained, it will not return to its actuality. I
would change the dimensions and resistance of it so it will have to be SCRAP. As an
observation of the material, the 1060 aluminum alliance can still be preserved, since it was
a problem of machinery and not of the material.
