DAILY LESSON LOG

TEACHER: Ms. Jessica G. Moslares LEARNING AREA: Electronics
(DLL)
DATE COVERED: Oct. , 2019 QUARTER: 2nd
SECTIONS: Grade 7- ADAPTIVE
TIME: 10:20-11:20
I. OBJECTIVES
The learner demonstrates an understanding of the basic concepts
A. Content Standard
and underlying theories in consumer electronics servicing.
The learner independently demonstrates common competencies in
B. Performance Standard
electronics servicing as prescribed by TESDA.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
(Write the LC codes for each) a. determine the resistance value of carbon resistor through color
coding;
b. identify the procedures in interpreting resistor color coding; and
c. perform resistor color coding.

RESISTOR COLOR CODING

II. CONTENT (Subject Matter) Note: This lesson is about computing resistance value of a
resistor through color coding. (ACROSS CURRICULUM AREA)
III. LEARNERS' MATERIALS/RESOURCES

A. Reference
1. Teacher's Guide Pages K-12 Basic Education Curriculum Technology and Livelihood
2. Learners' Materials (Module pages) Education Learning Module

B. Other Learning Resources

IV. PROCEDURE
Questions to be asked:

1. Define resistor.
A. Reviewing previous lesson 2. What is fixed resistor?
3. What is variable resistor?
4. Give the types of Fixed resistor.
5. Give the types of variable resistor.
PICK and ANSWER
This activity is all about the recap of the past lesson. The teacher
B. Establishing a purpose (Motivation) will provide questions that is written on a piece of paper and it will
be circulating in the class. Students will pick one question and
answer it in front of the class.
C. Learning strategies /Activities / a. Greetings
b. Checking of cleanliness
Instructional Method
c. Checking of attendance
d. Discussing the resistor color coding.

DISCUSSION:

 The teacher will show a picture of Philippine Flag.

Questions to be asked:

1. Do you know what the color of Phillippine Flag stands for?

2. Give the meaning of each color.

 The teacher will show the resistor color coding chart and
will discuss how to perform resistor color coding.

ACTIVITY:

 The students will group into four. They will select their
representatives. Each representative will be going to
perform the resistor color coding within 2 minutes and will
explain how they got their answer.

VIDEO PRESENTATION

 The video will show another strategy how to determine the

resistance value of a resistor in a fastest way the link will be
provided for checking the video again.
NOTE: Giving a link is an ICT integration
 What have you learned from today’s lesson?
D. Making Generalizations and
 How is it important to be familiarized the colors and their
abstractions about the lesson
value used in resistor color coding?
 Enumerate the colors of the resistor color coding chart in
order and give the value/code of each color.

Give the resistance value of the following:

1. BROWN – BROWN – ORANGE – GOLD

2. RED – BLACK – BROWN – GOLD
3. GREEN – VIOLET – RED – SILVER
4. BLUE – RED – BROWN – GOLD
5. GRAY – VIOLET – BLACK – SILVER
E. Evaluating learning/ Assessment Plan
ANSWER:
1. 11k ohms
2. 200 ohms
3. 5700 ohms
4. 620 ohms
5. 97 ohms

IV. ASSIGNMENT

A. Topic Resistor color coding

Practice answering at home:

1. RED WHITE ORANGE SILVER

B. Guide Questions 2. BROWN BLACK RED GOLD
3. ORANGE ORANGE BLACK GOLD
4. YELLOW VIOLET YELLOW GOLD
5. BLUE RED GREEN SILVER
