Waste management is

divided into three parts:-

1. Plastic waste
2. Biodegradable waste
3. Water waste
Waste type:- Biodegradable Waste
Includes:- Food scraps, cotton, wool, wood, human and
animal waste, manufactured products based on natural
materials (such as paper, tree products and vegetable-oil
based soaps).

Problems if not managed properly:-

 Stagnant biodegradable wastes expel out
foul smell which is very harmful to
the environment.
 These wastes also emit some greenhouse
gases such as methane, carbon dioxide ,etc.

Solutions:-
 Composting or making compost:-
Composting is the natural process of decomposition and recycling
of organic material into a humus rich soil amendment known as compost. For
any business or institution producing food waste, this organic material can be
easily decomposed into high quality compost. Compost is organic matter that
has been decomposed in a process called composting. The decomposition
process is aided by shredding the plant matter, adding water and ensuring
proper aeration by regularly turning the mixture when open piles or
"windrows" are used. Composting is nature's way of recycling. ... Composting is
a natural biological process, carried out under controlled aerobic conditions
(requires oxygen). In this process, various microorganisms, including bacteria
and fungi, break down organic matter into simpler substances.

Composting can be done in two ways:-

1. Through high tech technology-
It can prepare compost in just 24 hours.(fast)
2. Through compost pits-
Depending on the size of your compost pile, what you put in it, and how
you tend to it, this process can take three months to two years.

 Recycling paper-

Prevention:-
 Putting up posters.
 Awaring them through speeches,
announcements, etc.
 Giving them live demo on how they
can make a compost it at their
home.

Advantages:-
Enriches soil, helping retain moisture and suppress plant diseases and pests.
Encourages the production of beneficial bacteria and fungi that break down organic
matter to create humus, a rich nutrient-filled material. Reduces methane emissions
from landfills and lowers your carbon footprint.
