specialized set of skills and is some cases they require a TESDA certificate. A specialization in
Computer Hardware Servicing, combined with a certificate and/or professional experience,
makes one a professional in this field. Common careers include working as a Computer Service
Technician, Computer Network Serviceman and Peripheral Service Technician

How difficult is this program

Computer Hardware Servicing NC II is not a difficult program. Unlike four year degree programs
where there are a lot of subjects which are theory based, this program is focused on developing
the practical skills of students thus a minimal portion of theories are taught. Aside from hands-
on and practicum exercises, there are no other course requirements such as research papers or
major projects. There are some schools who have on the job trainings (OJT).

The challenging part of the program is studying the core competencies because the topics
involved are the technical parts of Computer Hardware Servicing. For students who have
minimal or no background with computers and computer systems, this program may be a little
difficult. An interest and understanding of computers is helpful but repeated practice and
studying will really help a trainee learn the ins and outs of Computer Hardware Servicing.

One of the greatest advantage of this program which makes it a lot easier for students is that it
follows a modular type of instruction. Modular Instruction is a type of teaching method that
follows a specific set of planned learning activities and exercises. These activities are contained
in a short booklet called a module. The Modular form of instruction focuses on individualized
learning, self-pacing and frequent feedback. Because Computer Hardware Servicing NC II
follows a modular type of instruction, students are allowed to proceed with his/her own
learning pace (self-pacing). Instructors provide timely feedbacks allowing students to improve
their skills.
