Introduction
Abstract:
Technology experts are continually trying to effect efficient manner and effort to
integrate technology in the classroom for it has been one of the concerns not only of the
country but all over the world. There are works and specific jobs, in automotive technology,
which requires the use of “Special Service Tools (SST) -purposely designed for a definite job
like engine overhauling, engine servicing and under chassis works. Mechanical valves in
most I-type head engines are removed and re-installed using a “Valve Spring Compressor”
considered as “Special Service Tool (SST).” Removal and re-installation of valves in any
automotive engines must ensure and apply safety both on the work and the worker. In this
idea, the researchers planned, fabricated and assessed the level of acceptability of the
“Combined Mechanical and Hydraulic Valve Spring Compressor for I-Head Valve Engines”
capable of removing and reinstalling multiple engine valves in one setting. Te proponent
adopted the Research and Development (R&D) process for the developed “Special Service
Tool (SST)” is useful to instructors in automotive. Te project was also evaluated using the
descriptive approach since a review questionnaire was administered. Conclusion showed that
the apparatus exhibited a high level of acceptability regarding functionality, usability and
safety.

Background of study

the task. For the kind of condition as we experience in the time that we are servicing the
cylinder head specifically in removing valve spring. Our point is how to remove valve spring
in a simple, easy and fastest way. Which is beneficial to all car owners, who are the people
cannot afford the high-tech device in removing valve spring from cylinder. The major
problem that we encountered is when you remove the valve spring from the cylinder head of
the engine is very difficult, that’s why we created the simple device called” hydraulic valve

The purpose of our study is to contribute useful device in Automotive Industry which
other researcher doesn’t have because unlike other valve removing device the appropriate
ratio is 1:1 means one valve in a single operation, but compared to our device is have a big
difference where in , in four valves will be remove in just one operation. . As we observed
there are many engines that need to repair but how will accomplish all tasks if you are not
using your initiative in such a practical problem like that. The big deal is that how you will
modern new era. Thus, making this device is a challenge on how will you find a better and
innovated solution with regards to valve spring removal procedure with the use of simple

materials especially waste iron bar and angle bars and etc. Those are almost rejected in
automotive industry. We are encouraging everybody to generate a better idea as we are part
of the modern world by generating an eco-friend device to reduce industrial waste in our
community.
