This study was conducted in order to develop a computer based Point of sale for NTG
products located at Tuguegarao City. The researcher was conducted to design a system that
would help the personnel of ntg products to systematically generate accurate information.

Hence, the Point of sale should be used as an instrument that is effective and user-
friendly in the elevation process.

This study also showed that the Point of Sale System is very helpful for the staff as well as
the cashier compared to the record sheets that they using. Based form the interview with
existing style, the cashier concluded that the proposed system is more accurate and effective.

Based from the conclusion of the proponents of this study, they recommend the
implementation of Point of Sale System. It should be highly adopted by the ntg product to
improve the traditional way of recording and updating the records specially the transaction
process, and the sale report.
 CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the study

In today’s generation, modern technology has greatly affected our lives.

Any form of gadget is rapidly coming out. Most of the time, youth love to spend
their time in manipulating such gadgets which can give them pleasure because
of the different things that they wanted to do such as chatting with their friends,
uploading pictures, and other using famous communicating media which is the
Facebook. Our communication become expeditious because of the new
technology. Even or daily chore has become effortless because of the machines
that are created by technology. All of us is already familiarized with the word
computer, even the small kids has already habituated to different kinds of
gadgets.
One of the most popular and interesting machine that is invented by the
technology is the computer. Today, we can’t hide the reality that technology has
really helped us to lessen our works even our daily activities. We can do things
faster and efficient using computers. With this connection, burdens in the field of
work should be decreased specially in the office work only if manual system will
be turned off to computerized system. As such, for example, company should
have a point of sale system to lessen such burdens of its staff.
1.2 Statement of the objectives
The NTG Products is using a manual system. It needs more time and effort in doing
the inventory and sales computation. The data can be lost and it can’t be
restored that’s why the researchers is developing a computerized Point of Sale.

1.2.1 General objective

To be able to accommodate the customer with computerized,

systematic. And correlated retail information with regards to the products that
they purchase with their respective prices, the quantity the purchase, and with
less time burden.

1.2.2 Specific objective

 To identify expired products;

 To provide a faster and more accurate transaction and complete
processing of a daily record;
 To provide a detailed transaction of each peson’s work;
 To ensure security of records; and
 To maintain arrangement of files/records.
1.3 Scope and delimitation of the study

Scope

 The system can compute the total price of item.

 Data is protect with the help of login system. Unauthorized person cannot
access the data.
 This proposed system will only control one system to manage the process
while every transaction will be recorded.
 ADMINISTRATOR - can be able to login the system and access the retail
database; can add, update or remove, goods and employees; and the
admin account cannot be accessed by the cashier.
Delimitation

 The system can’t compute salary of the employee.

 The system is not a client-server.
 System can only be accessed offline

1.4 Significance of the study

The proponents proposed a system, entitled Point of Sale that will be a great help in
monitoring and will surely ease the process of keeping the transaction of the NTG PRODUCT
through using anew method that is more systematic and absolutely efficient.
