Lesson Plan in Cosmetology- Hairdressing

(Grade 10)

I. OBJECTIVES:
 To be able to prepare and distinguish the functions of different tools and equipment
used in hot oil treatment commercially prepared product.
 To be able to demonstrate the proper procedure in applying hot oil treatment
commercially prepared product.
 To be able to work efficiently in accomplishing a given task.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


A. TOPIC: Hot oil treatment using treatment commercially prepared product.
MATERIALS: Visual aid, computer, projector, tools and materials (applicator brush, mixing bowl,
towel, processing cape, hair clip/hair clamp, comb, rat tail comb (proper protective clothing -
apron, face mask, plastic gloves, hair net)

B. Preparatory Activities
1. Review of the past lesson
What are the basic steps needed before giving hair treatment?

2. Motivation
The students will analyze the picture (bad condition of the hair) and will arrange the
letters to form correct words which lead to identifying the topic to be discussed.
3. Abstraction
Inform the students about the topic, which include the meaning, importance and safety
precaution of hot oil treatment commercially prepared product.

Hot oil Treatment


Hot oil Treatment- is a scalp and hair treatment given to clients/patrons with dry
scalp, dry brittle hair, split ends, dyed hair, excessive dandruff.

MATERIALS TO BE USED
(mixing bowl , hair clip/hair clamp, comb, towel, rat tail comb, proper protective
clothing- apron, face mask, plastic gloves, hair net.)
TOOLS TO BE USED
(processing cape, applicator brush)

Procedures:
1.Select and arrange the required tools, materials, and cosmetics needed
2. Prepare and drape the patron
3. Comb the hair.
4.Select hair into 4 equal parts
Part the hair at the center from facial hairline to the crown for at least 2 inches
Part the back area into two and secure the hair with hair clamps
5.Apply the product (commercially prepared), section by section, from the scalp to
the hair ends using the applicator brush.
6.Give a scalp manipulation
7.Cover the hair and scalp with the processing cape and place the treated head of
hair under a heating cap/thermal cap for 10-20 minutes, depending on the type of
hair and scalp condition.
8.Shampoo the hair, rinse it thoroughly and towel dry the hair
9.Use blow dryer to style the hair.
10. Discard used materials and supplies
11.Cleanse and sanitize used tools and equipment

D. ANALYSIS
1.Why do we need a step by step procedure in doing hot oil treatment commercially
prepared product?
2.Why do you think that your tools and equipment are being sanitized before and
after using it?
3.What do you think are the benefits of hot oil treatment commercially prepared
product?
E. Application
1. Student will perform the proper procedures in applying hot oil treatment commercially
prepared product.
2. Assessment and Evaluation
The teacher will evaluate the work of the student through proper observation. The
learners will be graded based on the following criteria:
