Activity: Understanding Disaster Risk Factors: Part 1 (Building background knowledge

Instructions:
1. Divide the class into groups of four.
2. Provide each group with a set of 4 different colored markers, a piece of chart paper, texts,
loose leaf paper, and display a copy of the “mystery map”
3. Write down what you think the map is about and draw a line after thoughts are jotted
down.
4. Write what you know about disaster risk in your journals or lecture notebook.
5. Discuss your answers with your group and present it in class.
