MTN Nigeria UR 18 client upgrade

Online Upgrade(Strongly Recommended):

Start the server upon completion of upgrade. Connect the Client of the source
version to the server that has been upgraded to upgrade the Client online. Suppose
the directory of the source version in client side is \netnumen\ums-client.

1). Double-click the client, the prompt indicates that the upgrade is in process.
Click OK for online upgrade.

2). The system will ask whether to clear the temporary backup directory after
the upgrade package has been executed successfully. If rollback needs to
be performed subsequently, do not delete it. If not, delete it. Select “No” in
the example.

3). Confirm the upgrade success information.

Note: If the upgrade of the client fails, stop the zte_update.exe process in the Task
Manager manually, and try the client auto-upgrade again. If there are errors, please
copy \NetNumen\update\backup\ums-client to the \NetNumen\ums-client directory,
and then start client auto-upgrade again.

Upgrading the Client Separately:

(1) Using Web Browser for Downloading to Install

Using this mode to install, you can obtain the component information of the server,
and the component information of the local client can be updated automatically, so
as to match the appropriate menu. It is strongly recommended that this mode
should be used to install the client. The steps are shown below:

1. Input https://10.228.170.80:21141/client in the browser input box (ServerIP

is the IP address of the EMS server), press Enter, and click “Continue to
this website”. The GUI message of downloading ClientLoader.exe file is
displayed. Copy the ClientLoader.exe file to the local.

2. Run the downloaded ClientLoader.exe file, and open the Client Loader
window.

3. Input the temporary installation directory and continue. The client start
window is displayed:

Click Next. The License Agreement window is displayed.

Select Next. The Select Installation Style window is displayed. In the window,
Client Program is selected by default.

Click Next. A dialog box is displayed, asking you to enter the IP address of the

server. In the dialog box, enter the IP address of the server, and click OK or directly
click Cancel.

Enter the IP address of the server (10.228.170.80), and click OK. The
corresponding window of automatic matching the installed products in the server is
displayed. The product standard cannot be modified, see the following figure.

If you select Cancel, you can select the product standard as required in the Select
Product window.

In addition, it is emphasized that if the user selects the installation package to

install the EMS client without starting/linking the EMS server and needs to support
the northbound configuration center GUI tool, he must select “NAF COMMON”
when selecting the product packages, otherwise the EMS client cannot used this
function, see the following
figure:

Click Next. If the folder does not exist, click Yes.

Click Next in the window to detect the system information. When no error occurs
in the system information detection, click Next.

Enter the Installation Information Confirmation window. After confirmation

without errors, click Install.

Unzip and copy the files. This process is time-consuming. Please be patient. After it
is finished, click Next.

Enter the parameter configuration window, and adjust the data as required. If no
data needs to be adjusted, click Next. After the instalaltion is finished, you can also
enter the configuration center by running \netnumen\ems\uif\ runPlugCenter.bat.

In the system initialization window, click Next. The Installation Finished window
is displayed. Click Finish, and the installation process is finished.

(2) Use the EMS version to upgrade

1. Use EMS version to unzip

Download EMS version to the PC (Windows OS) on which the client runs,
and unzip it.

2. Run update.bat under the unzipped directory by double-clicking.

3. Input the drive in the place where you are prompted to input a path
according to the actual situation.

4. Unzip the file to a local disk.

5. Select the language, and click Next.

6. Select the installation path.

The displayed path by default is the installation path of the old version. When

upgrading this version, you do not need to change the path. Incremental Update is
not selected by default. If incremental update is required, the new products selected
must be consistent with the product installed incrementally on the server. Otherwise
link running will be affected. Here incremental update is used as an example.

Caution:

If the version before upgrade excludes the product package “NAF COMMON” and
the version after upgrade supports “NAF COMMON”, then you need to select
“Incremental Update” during the EMS client upgrade if the EMS client also needs
to support the function of “NAF COMMON”.

After setting, click Next.

7. Confirm the information.

Click the Patches Installed button, and you can see the patch information. Then,
click Close.

8. Continue the upgrade operations. In the main interface of step 6, click Next.
A message window is displayed. Click OK.

9. Detect the system information. Then, click Next.

10. The system starts to back up. After it is finished, click Next.

11. Execute upgrade packages. After it is finished, click Next.

12. Select the product. After it is finished, click Next.

After the upgrade packages have been copied, click Next. Due to incremental
upgrade, added products need to be selected. The products selected in the old

version are in grey and cannot be operated, see the following figure.

If the version before upgrade excludes the product package “NAF COMMON” and
the version after upgrade supports “NAF COMMON”, then the EMS client also
needs to support the function of “NAF COMMON”. Enter the incremental
installation window, select the product package “NAF COMMON” in the Select
Product window, and then click Next.

13. Detect the system information. After the detection is passed, click Next.

14. Confirm the installation information.

The installation information, version number and selected products are

displayed. After confirmation, click Install.

15. Unzip and copy files. After it is finished, click Next.

16. Configure the parameters.

Enter the parameter configuration window. You can modify the target
parameters and can also keep the default settings. After it is finished, click
Next.

17. Initialize the system, including copying tools and creating shortcuts. After it
is finished, click Next.

18. Display the installation information.

19. The upgrade packages have been executed.

In step 17, click Next. A message window is displayed, indicating that the
upgrade packages have been executed. Then, click Next.

20. Initialize the system. After it is finished, click Next.

21. The upgrade is finished.

In this process, temporary data is cleared.

22. View the information and modify the parameters after upgrade.

After the upgrade is finished, you can view the version information of each product
of the current system. Click Finish to quit the upgrade operations.

If you click Configuration Center, you can enter the above-mentioned parameter
configuration window to modify some parameters that do not conform to the
expectations. After modification, click the Save button and the Close button. Then,
click Finish. The incremental upgrade of the client is finished.
