Both articles are dealing with the current trend in tourism - unsustainability.

They agree that it

reveals the human motivation to impress others and together with the recent increase in accessibility
of travel allows damaging of popular destinations to continue.

The first article describes the long-term effects of unmanaged tourism on a town landscape. Many
places had been designed to be used by a few hundred people for the next centuries are now
overcrowded by thousands. However, not only towns suffer from such volumes of traffic. Nature
sights around are becoming symbols of status and it is taking its toll. Despite the negative, tourism
can sometimes enlight forgotten underdeveloped countries into prosperity.

The second article delves into the current state of the problematic and explores a possible damage
reduction, yet the efforts to implement measures are usually considered after irreversible damage is
inflicted. Ultimately, tourism is fueled by an advertisement and human need to impress others with
luxurious travel. This suggests that the solution may be in the attitude towards our cultural and
natural heritage.

It can be concluded that while touristic overuse can be partially solved by the towns measures, a
responsibility to be careful and respectful while travelling may be an even more important factor.
Teaching and spreading this message might be expensive and demanding but can necessary in long-
term.
Defenestration

Squinting my eyes to avoid some of the piercing morning sunlight, I wander around dirty streets of
the medival Prague. Blobs of undefined mess are floating in standing water. Some thirsty dog is
slurping it. It has been there since last week, so I can already assume that that dog has no standards.
While judging and staring at the dog I have been approached by some dirty orphan. Not again! She
recites her touching story, and noise from the background catches my attention. From somewhere
deep in the town hall I can clearly hear slaps and swearing. As a regular peasant, I witness a event of
historical magnitude. Crowds are pulled by their attention here. Old men are standing around,
whispering and discussing what is going on.

Suddenly, the highest window is shattered and the pieces of expensive glass are raining onto the
poor (figuratively and metaphorically) girl and me. Right after that screaming guy lands with a splash
in the water. It did not seem to help in any way. Slaps and swearing continue and we exchange
concerned looks with everybody else. Now, the real thing just started. One by one, flying fleet of
Prague townsmen depart the building with little to no preparation. The velocity is unfortunately
terminal. A qualified doctor comes screaming and starts checking for any valuable goods before
anybody has a chance to stop him. The poor girl just rolls her eyes and walks away. While some
political significance can be derived, the main thing we have to put up with is that this highly original
way of changing the management of medieval city haven't happened since.
