SIT NARRATIVE
REPORT
BSEE – 4A
I. INTRODUCTION
SIT is all about training us students for future purposes. Including SIT our curriculum is
really beneficial for us students so that after we graduate and passed the board exam, we know
what to do to be able to find a job that will suit our skills. Also, it helped us physically and
mentally to be prepared on what the real deal is when it comes to doing our duties prior to what
coursed we finished. It can be in the office or in the field whether anywhere. I would say that
putting this in our curriculum is really helpful to reach our future dreams and plans. At first,
finding the company that will accept us was really hard but it was really worth it until we find
that company. We were really excited on what will be the situation in the office/field. At first it
was really hard and we’re really shocked by the culture there. But after a day or two, we were
able to adjust and we really enjoyed what we are doing. So to conclude, we really benefited from
this and for sure, we will bring all the things we learned wherever we are in the near future.
II. JOBS PERFORMED IN THE COMPANY
ATS WIRING
BDO WIRING
MTS WIRING
MOUNTING OF BUSBARS
1. Knowledge
terms of knowledge, I was able to use my building wiring skills that was taught to us during our
first year of stay in the university. Also, I was able to use my knowledge in reading different
single line diagrams to be able to wire the panel or component and etc. that was assigned to me
by my supervisor. Also I was able to use my knowledge about the symbols of the different
electrical components. Safety has been applied strictly during my stay in the company.
2. Skills
I was able to use my building wiring skills and my skills in handling different power tools
and etc. also improved. I was able to use the tools easier that made my work faster and efficient.
Also, my patience, willingness and passion when it comes to doing my job improved.
3. Values
In the company, I was being polite and respectful to my seniors during my whole stay
there. I listened wholeheartedly and carefully to what they are saying more importantly if it will
improve the quality of my work. I always arrive to the company early to be able to keep my
record clean.
4. Human Relationship
In the company, we were not treated as trainees. Casual workers and we are doing the
same job with the same difficulty and pressure. Free dinner is a privilege if you will work over
time.
IV. PROBLEMS MET WHILE ON TRAINING
I haven’t encountered any problems with the school. It’s just that, the memorandum of
agreement or MOA is not clear. I think some of the privileges that us trainees should receive has
In terms of the problem with the company, the work pressure in TOTAL POWER BOX
SOLUTIONS was really a big problem for us trainees. They give us orders to be made “RUSH”
and I think it was really unfair because we are really new with the work and environment. We
still don’t know what to do and I think that the casual or regulars workers should do the rush
orders because they know the work for a long time and they can finish that faster than us.
Another is that the company is forcing us to work overtime even though our bodies can’t
take it anymore. My point is that to be able to work efficiently, a proper rest is needed. Also, if
you overworked yourself, sickness may attack you and worst thing to come, you can’t work for a
TUP-IRJP office is doing a good job with the curriculum. Before we enrol the subject,
they make sure that all the documents and papers that are needed are already accomplished. But
just one thing, they are too strict in terms of the standing of the student. I recommend that even
though some of the students are irregular, once they are in the year where they can take the
training, the IRJP office should let them take it. Not all academic knowledge and subjects that
are taught to us are applied once we are in training. Also, some students weren’t able to graduate
on time because they wouldn’t allow the student to take the subject. I suggest that the committee
should request a program of study of the student if he or she is on irregular status but wants to
take the training and has a target date of graduation. Time is really priceless. They should listen
to the student if he or she has a plan or a target whether he can graduate on time even though he
is on irregular status. They should also listen to the voice of the students. Not just their side.
