FUTURE ISSUES IN NURSING 2
The nursing theory refers to the body of knowledge that provides the principles and
regulations that support the nursing practice Bastable, S. B. (2017). The four basic nursing
concepts that must be followed are; nursing person, health, and the environment. However, the
exposure of nursing to relevant theories from other disciplines has posed major future issues that
require immediate attention. The problems are based on cultural diversity, health promotion, and
The exposure of nursing to science is an issue that will have an impact on the nursing
theory. This is because scientific innovations have come up with new treatment methods, new
medications, and have also developed new diseases that are used at times as biological weapons.
Concerning cultural diversity, the adoption of scientific innovations in nursing practice will
affect the cultural diversity of communities. The locals will shift from the traditional ways of
seeking medication to adapt to new ideas. Various cultural groups will quit their ways of life to
follow the digital experience, and as a result, their social welfares will be eroded (Infobase, &
Medcom-Trainex (Firm), 2018). Some cultural groups will turn away from nursing to continue
with their initial medication practices as they will view the nursing practice as an absorbed body
by scientific innovations.
In terms of health promotion, the establishment of new specialties for nurses will have a
significant impact on nursing practice. If the trend continues, there is a possibility of new nursing
fields arising in the future. The establishment of unique nursing specialties will result in the
development of new theories making some of the critical nursing theories to lose their
significance. Besides, the new hobbies will absorb some of the nursing theories leading to either
The communication methods in nursing will be affected since the publishing of the
nursing theories in the future has the potential of being done online. As a result, book publishing
will become an issue of the past as the nursing practice will be adopting digital life in terms of
service delivery (Cowen & Moorhead, 2014). Besides, the nurses will render services to the
clients online, and those who will not access modern communication devices will find it difficult
to access the health services. The increased investment in technology will allow for the quick
development of new communication theories in the nursing sector, thereby affecting the primary
communication methods.
