Before you enter the defense room, you must say a little
-Discuss why you choose the company (your first few words create big impact). prayer. Feel that you’re the most religious person on earth.
-Say something interesting about the company. Example is that you are interested to the
manufacturing process of orange juice, then you choose Zesto. Or you are a car enthusiast
then choose Toyota, or you choose a small company because your brother is the manager of that company. Or you are a legal management student, of course on
top of my mind I want a law firm.
-As an accountancy student, you can mention that the company is affected by TRAIN LAW
-You may mention something political or legally related about the company or personal (emotional) connection to the company. Example. The company has
many lawsuits that won or You are a scholar of the company.
-Or you are impressed to the ideology or philosophy of the Owner or CEO of the company. Or mention a rhetorical question to the company – a need for
strategy. Or mention short story of the company with humble beginning. Or you can start the presentation by a quotation or motivational statement from a
known person. Or mention that the owner of the company is a graduate of legal management or a lawyer or graduate of San Beda University. Or you want to
help your family business, so you want help or advice from the panelist.

2. Porter’s 5 Forces including the assessment of the power of each force (1 slide).
Explain the overall attractiveness of the industry considering the power of the 5
forces. The 5 forces can in table format.
3. Competitor’s Profile Matrix, CPM (1 slide). Explain 1-2 factors and briefly state
the relative position of the firm vis-à-vis competitors.
Emphasize who lead the CPM total scoring. Don’t need to worry if the chosen company is in the second or third ranking.
4. EFE Matrix (1 slide). Explain 1-2 factors, opportunities and threats, and briefly
explain the overall score. The factors inside EFE are gathered through PESTEL
and Porter.
To show competency and to impress the panel (sa tagalog pa-bibo), student must mention a personal interesting
discovery in those highlighted opps and threats. Or you can mention to the panels that your company interviewee is
emphasizing a certain opportunity that you agree or disagree.
To make the reporting lively and interesting, the STRAMA student must also insert interesting discovery in doing the
external analysis. Student may also mention application of other subjects, or recommendation of the strama adviser, or the
strama teacher, or a professor who thought you on a particular external analysis. STRAMA student may mention one or
several opportunities or threat that has legal implication or connected to political factor. Student must mention latest external
news like Pres Du30 Admin, ending contractualization, inflation, ASEAN integration, Millenials and Gen Z, Info Tech,
global warming, and automation. This are proof that you really did your own strama paper.
Remember:
This slide is so important because it demonstrate your preparedness. Don’t read the slide. Practice your
presentation at home. This will help increase your comfort level with the powerpoint slides and your notes, the
timing of each piece of your presentation and allow you to remain within the recommended time for the
presentation.
Killer Question from the Panel: How does your Threat#2 become Threat? (Pano
naging threat to? Pinag isipan mo ba tong EFE mo)
Answer: (Answer must be based on how T#2 becomes obstacle, how does it minimizes sales
revenue, hinders customers, or decreases profit. Some panelist will check if you really did your
strama paper.)
5. IFE Matrix (1 slide). Explain 1-2 factors, strengths and weaknesses, and briefly
explain the overall score.
6. Show list of proposed strategies coming from the matching tools used:
SWOT matrix (1 slide). Identify 1-2 strategies.
SPACE matrix (1 slide)
IE matrix (1 slide)
GRAND matrix (1 slide)
BCG matrix (1 slide)
For SWOT, discuss the top 3 emerging strategies with high frequency of appearance.
For SPACE, quickly discuss if the company should be aggressive, competitive, conservative and defensive.
For BCG, discuss if from star, question mark, cow or dogs
For I.E. discuss if the company fall in Grow and Build, Hold and Maintain, Harvest or Divest
For G.S. discuss if the company fall in what quadrant (verbally explain that this is due to the weak or strong competitive
position and slow or rapid market growth.
-the presentation becomes interesting if the student will mention their favorite MATRIX or inject personal observations.
7. QSPM (1 slide). Show the ranking of the strategies based on the weighted score.
Killer Question: Do you think that this is really the strategic issue, or opportunity
always being missed or problem of the company?
Answer: (Normally, panelist just want to know the reason of the student in putting your strategic issue.
Answer must be based on info gathered and depth of research done or study of the company; answer
must be written or observed and written in PESTEL and Porters, or Company analysis of Chapter 5).
The student must demonstrate their competency (sa tagalog pa-bibo), mention some threats or
weaknesses that is being solved here or mention some opportunities and strengths that can be
capitalized if the the strategic issues are solved

Show one row showing Objective, measures, time frame or unit/person responsible for each of the 4 perspective. One for
Financial, Customer, Internal and Learning/Growth Perspective
If the panelist has no more or less question, the student may request help by asking the panelist on what else need to be
included in the strama paper or to help the company. Be polite if the panelist has so many objections.
Optional, give sample product or brochure from the company. (Remember to impress the panel)
Note: Kindly ensure that the presentation will not exceed 25 minutes.
