Reflected wave ckt
Standing wave pattern
Whenever there is a mismatch of impedance between transmission line
and load, reflections will occur. If the incident signal is a continuous AC
waveform, these reflections will mix with more of the oncoming incident
waveform to produce stationary waveforms called standing waves. And
pattern formed is known as standing wave pattern.

So
X2 - X1= 1/2*g
X3 – X2= 1/2*g
X3 – X1 = g
Thus
g1= 2(X2 – X1);
g2 = 2(X3 – X2);
g3 = (X3 – X1);
Finally Average g=(g1+g2+g3)/3 ;
Analytical Data
1/g1^2=1/0^2+1/c^2
g=(0c)/√1/c2 − 1/02
Now 0= c/f and for Mode H10/TE10 c= 2a,where a =22.86mm as
a=22.86mm /0.4”
b=10.16mm /0.9”

Procedure
Measured value
X1=26mm,
X2=44mm and
X3=62mm
Calculation
g1= 2(X2 – X1)=2(44-26)=36mm
g2= 2(X3– X2)=2(62-44)=36mm
And
g1= (X3– X1)=(62-26)=36mm
Now putting these in:
g=(g1+g2+g3)/3 ;
g=(36+36+36)/3=108/3=36mm
So g=36mm
