Analysis and Interpretation of Data and Result:
The mass of water that was mixed to the dry soil sample is 44.20 g and the mass of
the oven-dried sample is 38.59g. Dividing the mass of the water to the mass of the oven-
dried soil sample, the Moisture Content can now be computed. The mixture soil sample
has a Moisture Content of 114.54 %.
Conclusion:
The mixture of the soil sample and water has a high percentage of Moisture
Content even resulting greater than 100% that is why the sample was slurry before it was
oven-dried. This amount of moisture content will cause less cohesion in the soil. Thus,
easier slippage and causes softening of soil cements. It is also said that compaction
occurs with traffic on wet soils. With this, the soil can have more ability to be easily
compacted.
