The Perspective Of Alessia Cara’s Two Ballad Song

Listening to a music or especially a song is not only a hobby or even just an

entertainment. Sometimes listening to a song become our moodbooster in our
life drama. It makes us happy, sad, moving, and whatever we call emotion. Here
are Alessia Cara’s sad song. The titles are “River of Tears” and “Stone”. Both two
songs are in her debut album called Know-It-All and the producer is a same
person, Sebastian Kole. The main background of “River of Tears” and “Stone” are
about a hope and sadness but completely in a different ways.
In “River of Tears”, you heard that this song tells about an complicated
feeling. Empty, angry, surrender and sad. The whole song use a sad melody
mostly supported by the instrumen of piano. At first all I could say is this music
lead to a breakdown soul. On the verse, it tells us about the expression of
recalling something special back then. Still on the next verse, Alessia puts a little
bit higher tone that shows a false hope and a foolish act. On the early chorus
shows the sad and the surrender in a low tone but the uplifting tone after that
define an anger and confident to be more independent. On the verse two, the
lyrics bring out the fact that sadly a reallly big true of love which is makes it
more and more sorrow. The bridge that is tied with two chorus makes us go
deeper into the meaning of the lyrics, it gives us a sturdy decision to end the
relationship and it does make sense for a broken-hearted soul. Eventhough the
bridge not as firm as the other song, Alessia’s high notes in the bridge makes my
soul go up and down to a cry.
In “Stone”, this song is an easy listening with slow melody but bring up
something feels like a hope and despair. The instrumens in the song can be heard
clearly by guitars and drum or kajon which are suprisingly give so cool and fit to
be heard in a stress situation. We can hear Alessia’s voice at the verse of this
song reveal a hard time in life. Go through the time smoothly then the high notes
come to show that we have something arround us. Without even know what will
comes next, it gives a hint of confident on each words. On the chorus, the
instrumens and the lyrics are really meaningful to an uncertain fate. It was all
very deep and touchy. The bridge really kill the song in such a very deep
expectations to someone we love. When the high notes end, it brings me a really
deep breath. Beside that, the song can be interpreted in some general object like
to our family, bestfriends or a lover. I see that that we could freely feels the
emotion pretending for whom we love.
In “River of Tears” the sadness over the song is about losing someone,
begin with an endless-hopeful-relationship but then after the relationship end it
is all ruin and leaves some regret. The story in the song is about a broken heart
girl feels so desperate about her love life. She always remember the things that
had done, and she will do. She thought that the boy will always be her anything
but she totally wrong. It leaves a sincere sadness without even a hope inside. In
“Stone” the sadness is about being alone and hurt ourselves. It’s started with the
situation about being empty and stuck. Then someone comes, change anything.
The things get better when someone arround. Afterwards, the girl is not really
care about anything even the life seems so vague, she just wanna be like that,
with someone she love. The next thing is when someone’s beside you, it’sll
disguise all of the problems. You will have a hope and believe. This song begin
with the excessive thought then bring out a hope in the end to someone we
believe, this is totally different with “River of Tears” which is begin with the
lovely realationship but then broke up in a best way with a hopeless cry.

The two ballad songs of Alessia Cara have a lot of differences. Those two is
actually tell a sad story but “River of Tears” is more about a broken heart, a
regret, and a desperate soul. “Stone” is more about a sadness of being so
thoughtful in this world. Both also have a difference in the end of the story, one
with its crying and distrust and the other one with its hope and trust to someone.
Overall, the section of these two songs is almost similar but the one is for a lover
and the other one in unspecifically told. I personally think that “River of Tears” is
very suitable for those who are in the heartbreak situation but want some flash
back mode and “Stone” is dedicated for someone who is strees out about the
world and in the situation of expecting for someone.
