CHAPTER I. INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

This research reports the harmonic mitigation of energy crisis and how will the energy bills be
lower with the use of solar renewable energy in the selected barangay in the municipality of
medina, misamis oriental. Solar energy is very important in our homes because solar energy is
produced from sunlight; meaning that the sun has to make a contact with particular object in
order to create solar energy.

Solar panels are used to produce electricity by converting the sums of energy into intense heat
thru various mirror configuration’s the heat is then carried through a conventional generator and
distributed. It is converted into thermal or electrical energy. Solar energy is the cleanest and
most abundant renewable energy source available. It will be useful into our community for us to
decrease our electricity bills.

The traditional use of solar energy has influenced the design of homes and public buildings in
many parts of the world. This solar energy building technique has reduced the need for other
sources of energy to generate electricity.

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM AND SPECIFIC

QUESTION
This study is to develop the Harmonic Mitigation of Energy Bill with the use of solar renewable
energy which can be used by the residence of Barangay North Poblacion, Medina Misamis
Oriental.
Specifically this study seeks to answer the following questions:
Can a solar renewable energy help residence in Barangay North Poblacion, Medina, Misamis
Oriental in terms of saving their monthly income?
What percentage of electric bill will be considered as savings of the residence of Barangay North
Poblacion, Medina Misamis Oriental if they consider using of solar renewable energy?
1.3 OBJECTIVES
1. To determine if solar renewable energy help residence in Barangay North Poblacion, Medina
Misamis Oriental in terms of saving their monthly electric bill?

2. To identify the percentage of electric bill to be consider as savings of the residence of

Barangay North Poblacion, Medina, Misamis Oriental if they agree in usage of solar renewable
energy.

1.4 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

1. Mitigate the problem of high energy bill consumption in every household in North Poblacion,
Medina by encouraging to use solar renewable energy.

2. To make solution on major electricity problem like electric crisis experienced by the residents
of North Poblacion, Medina.

1.5 STATEMENT OF VALUE

A methodology that takes a uniform approach to establish the true value of the electricity
produced by the distributed energy system. Currently, the solar energy that is generated from
photovoltaic systems varies in price depending on state and utility.

1.6 SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study harmonic mitigation of energy bill with the use of solar renewable energy in brgy
north poblacion medina misamis oriental is focusing on how installation of solar renewable
energy is important in every household of brgy. North poblacion.
