City of West Hollywood

Releases Draft General
Plan 2035 and Climate
Action Plan
The City of West Hollywood has recently
released its draft General Plan for public
review. The General Plan is designed
to guide the City’s physical, social,
and economic resources over the next 25
years. It serves as a roadmap for the City’s
long-term development by providing goals
and policies related to topics including land
use, mobility, housing, conservation, and
economic development. Each of these topics
is consolidated into a separate chapter of
the Plan referred to as “Elements”.

center with a contemporary retail-residential community.

The City also released a Climate Action

Plan. This Plan is intended to provide City
decision-makers with guidance regarding
how to implement key actions to reduce
greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The Plan,
developed in response to the passage of
Assembly Bill 32 (2006), which requires
reductions in GHG emissions throughout the
state, is West Hollywood’s plan to meet its
GHG reduction targets.
The General Plan update process has
been occurring over the last two years,
beginning in early 2008.
