1. Conclusion

In this experiment, we learn to find the equilibrium of the ring on the force table. Using different
weighs and angles to find the perfect equilibrium. We are also able to find the resultant force of this
experiment by using the polygon method which uses a protractor and ruler for the length and angle of the
vector, and by using the component method which gives precise measurements for the resultant force.

Therefore, Forces are vector quantities. Their magnitude is defined in terms of the acceleration
they would give the standard mass. Concurrent forces reached the state of equilibrium when the sum of all
its forces is equal to zero. The resultant obtained is always opposite in direction to the equilibrant but the
same magnitude. That’s why we can now determine the equilibrant when we found out the resultant is
which can be achieved through actual experiment, component method and polygon method.

2. Application

Forces are part of our daily lives. We use Force in almost everything we do weather it’s
walking on the road, sitting, standing, stretching etc. Force causes a movement which changes the
resting state or uniform motion in the single line on an object. The most common thing is the push-
and-pull acting forces. You pushed an object you exert a force, you pulled an object you also exert
force. Force is everywhere but what are the most common scenarios? An example is when you are
opening your closet or drawer, you pull the knob so it will open. Where is the Force in there? the
moment you hold the knob there’s an exertion of energy or effort to pull it so Force occurs. Another
example is when you are in a grocery store, you push your grocery basket from stall to stall to choose
the product you’re going to buy.

There are many types of forces that we don’t know are acting around us. Just like the
gravitational force. When we are only standing and not moving we might think there’s no force
occurring or is happening around us but there is and that is the gravitational force which keeps us on
earth. This force also applies to any kind of object that is at rest.
