Job Description

My role is to provide the day to day support on the server like administration, maintenance, upgrade of
OS, supporting Hardware problems co-ordination with Vendors, performing Security related controls and
checks. # Upgrade and Maintain OS Versions. My responsibilities include managing calls like production
Node, Domain controller down, File system corruption on production server and production major H/W
failure, RCA preparation and meeting SLA for RCA submission. I am also involved in Planning and
implementing fixes / Patches # Escalation of Disk management task on production system from L2 team.
I Analyze Problems & escalate to appropriate Levels. I work with Change & Problem Management Tools
and create regular reports for Management requirements. When required I perform Root Cause Analysis
for the incidents and identify and recommend improvements to existing processes.

Solaris (UNIX) Administration:

 Perform day-to-day Technical Support- Analyzing, Trouble shooting and Resolving

Technical Problems related to Servers.
 Managing and Installing Solaris S/W on Standalone & Servers.
 Monitoring the System Performance.
 Perform User and Security Administration.
 Implementing File Permissions for the Users and Groups.
 Managing Crash Dumps and Core files.
 Configuring Role-Based Access Control(RBAC)& Access Control List(ACL).
 Creating Jumpstart Server and Managing File Systems.
 Perform System Boot and Shutdown Procedures.
 Manage Network Printers and System Processes.
 Perform System Backups and Restores.
  Responsible for Package and Patch Management & Installation.
 Scheduling jobs using CRONTAB & AT utility.
 Network Information Services (NIS) and Network File System (NFS) Administration.
 Creating and Maintaining Zones in Solaris 10.
