Leaders are most important subject in organization and leadership as guidance to ensure the
vision and mission of a company can be implemented. A good leader relies on the best
leadership style. As example, Napoleon was just a man with bold ambitions if he failed to lead
his armies. Many employers failed lead company lacking in leadership skills and could not
handle and appreciate employees well. Not all people can be leader, some people avoid either
role and other accepts the role and performs it poorly. Besides that, some people do not exercise
leadership and some people are leader without having any experience.
According to article Military Leadership, major factors in leadership consist of leader, followers,
communication and situation (Sharma, 2013).
Leader
As a leader, you need to know and understand potential, ability and expertise in list of job scope.
The successful of leader is determine by follower, if they do not trust potential of their leader or
lack confidence on leader expertise, they will be uninspired and as leader they failed to show
their real ability because lack of follower supported. To successful in leadership, leaders have to
influence followers to gain their trustworthy and increase their confident level and get full
support from them. As prove, John Maxwell once said that leadership is about influence and
nothing else (Roshan Thiran, 2018). Influencing contribute huge part in role of leadership,
although it is hard to done but the probability of successful is depends on it.
Followers
There is no leader without followers, leadership and followers have strong bond because both
side need to depend on each other in supportive relationship. Organizations of company succeed
or failure partly on the basis of how well their leader lead and depends on how well their
followers follow and it is important to have effective followers. This is because, effective
followers can build productive leadership behavior and increasing performance in workforce. A
effective followers must have specialized set of skills, motivation and power to enhance
organizational potential (Lawrence Suda, 2013).
Peter Drucker define leadership as a leader are someone who has follower, as example given are
army captain who is put in command of 200 soldier but never leaves his room or speaks to the
individual in his unit personally. In other words, the soldier must follow orders from captain
without any argument (Bariso, 2015). From above definition, leadership can classified into few
styles such as autocratic, bureaucratic, leadership and laissez-faire (Khan, 2015)
