ABSTRACT
Introduction: Most of the students today are more fascinated about new technology. The most trending digital appliance among
students is headphones. Usage of headphones has become more and more among students. This has led to the hearing loss in few
students. Although there are precautions for this, most of the students take them for granted. Hearing loss also gives some warning
effects like ringing in the ears. The main problem of hearing loss is not listening to music but listening to music for longer durations.
Materials and Methods: An online questionnaire was prepared and has been circulated among the students of Saveetha Dental
College. This survey was conducted among 120 students. Conclusion: It can be concluded that most of the students or not at great
risk of hearing loss. However, a very small segment of people should be taken precautions for their well-being.

Most of the students of Saveetha Dental College

headphones when used continuously. Some concern is
warranted for a small segment of these students who
seemed to be most at the risk because they use the
headphones at high volume levels for long durations,
