The current state of mobile learning is fast evolving in the 21st century. Mobile applications are fast
gaining popularity and being used in diverse ways to disrupt the traditional ways of transacting. In this
assignment, you are asked to individually review the use of mobile apps on a particular area such as
travel, shopping, training, multimedia learning, relaxation and others, in order to cover the following:
1) Introduction on the use of mobile apps in the area being investigated (previous use related to
technology in this area, and current status).
(3 marks)
2) Select one mobile app which has potential to be used effectively and highlight the advantages of
this particular app in the field/ area of use.
a) Give an overview of the purpose of the app, and the problem it seeks to solve
b) Highlight the strengths and uses of the app (ease of use/ design)
c) Investigate potential problems which may arise and how these problems could be addressed.

3) Reflect on the future use of this app by discussing and giving an overview of the use of the app in
area being developed and how future trends and applications may influence its use.

Instructional Design has been used to guide the framework of instruction. However, the design of
instruction may vary based on the subject matter (science or humanities), the purpose and aims of
instruction (to develop cognitive processes or affective skills) as well as the target learners (their
interests, aptitudes and other needs). In this assignment you will be reviewing instructional design
theories in small groups in order to review the following:
1) The introduction and overview of the instructional design model / theory being reviewed.

2) The main components of the instructional design model / theory.

3) Examples of research studies in which this instructional design model / theory has been used. Do
review the subject area, the purpose of instruction and the learners it has addressed.

4) Compare this model to an instructional model for systemic instructional design (eg. Morrison,
Ross & Kemp model or Dick & Carey model) and state the differences.
