In preparation of our group assignment, we had to take the help and guidance of some
respected persons, who deserve our deepest gratitude. As the completion of this assignment
gave us much pleasure, we would like to show our gratitude to Prof. Dr. Salmiah binti Kasolang
@ Kasalung, our lecturer for Engineer in Society (MEC 600) course at UiTM Shah Alam for
giving us a good guideline and guidance in accomplishing this assignment throughout
numerous consultations. We would also like to expand our gratitude to all those who have
directly and indirectly guided us in successfully finishing this assignment.
Many people, especially our classmates have made valuable comments and suggestions
on our programme, poster and video which gave us an inspiration to improve the quality of the
assignment. Highest regard also for the people who helped us in sharing and promoting this
educational programme through various sources and mediums.
4.0 PUBLIC AWARENESS AND PROMOTING OF PROGRAM
This section will explain briefly regarding the method approach used for marketing and
advertising our educational programme via social media and poster. The important of this is to
ensure the present of public awareness of our programme and also to sustain the programme
development as this event contain abundant of knowledge that is very useful for our daily life
and also future career.
First of all, poster was created with the help of an online website which allowed user to
create their own poster by using the designs and templates provided by the website. The name
of the website is ‘Canva’. Canva is a simplified graphic-design tool website, founded in 2012.
It uses a drag-and-drop format and provides access to photographs, vector images, graphics,
and fonts. It is used by non-designers as well as professionals. The tools can be used for both
web and print media design and graphics. The best criteria regarding Canva is that it is friendly
user and most of the contains is free of charge, but there will be Canva watermark for the free
version. However, if user is willing to invest a bit on the website, the watermark will be erased
for their benefit.
Then, the poster will be spread widely with the power of internet and also social
media. Along with it, some caption or a brief explanation regarding the nature of the
programme will also been included together to increase the understanding of public towards
the programme. The caption is as below:

informing you, on the month of October, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme
named (CSR) S.T.E.A.M Programme will be held as per requisition below:

Hence, the poster and also the brief description of the activities was been shared to
some popular social medias. For example, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. Below are the
proved of promotion done by our group in order of promoting this educational programme.
Lastly, we had created a post-video of our programme and had been posted on YouTube
by the title ‘UITM SHAH ALAM CSR STEAM PROGRAMME to Sekolah Agama
Menengah Bestari Subang Jaya’ via YouTube account name ‘Liyana Kamel’. The link of
the video is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEOSflIIlck&t=2s . The video was created with
the aid of video editing software known as VideoPad Video Editor. It is a paid to use software,
but there are still a lot of other free video editing software in the internet. Then, in order to
create awareness among the community regarding the importance of S.T.E.A.M and sustaining
the development of our educational programme, we shared the video link via WhatsApp and
Facebook. The video received an overwhelmed response by the community as there are 82
number of views and 34 number of likes. In the video, there are footage about our programme
from the beginning until the end. We hoped, our video and programme had inspired numerous
numbers of people about the importance of CSR, S.T.E.A.M and Engineering in a developing
country like Malaysia and what will be the consequences of neglecting them.
