Objetivos:
Los emprendedores crean nuevos negocios, y a su vez, las nuevas empresas crean puestos
de trabajo, intensifican la competencia; pudiendo, incluso, incrementar la productividad
mediante el cambio tecnológico. Niveles elevados de emprendimiento pueden traducirse
directamente en altos niveles de innovación, empleo y desarrollo económico (Schumpeter, 1934;
Baumol, Litan y Schramm, 2006; Acs y Audretsch, 1988; Audretsch y Frirsch, 2002; Acs,
Armington y Zhang, 2007).
Hoy en día las capacidades empresariales y su calidad se presentan como determinantes del ritmo
de desarrollo de un país. Diferentes ritmos de crecimiento entre países o entre períodos dentro de
un país vienen determinados por la oferta y calidad de las capacidades empresariales; en suma,
de sus empresarios. (Cuervo, 2005)
