Customers are asked to agree to the Toronto Public Library Wireless


Internet Access Service Guidelines before connecting:

Users of the wireless Internet service are bound by the terms of Toronto
Public Library's Rules of Conduct and Internet Use Policy.Users will not be
directed to the wireless network unless they agree to these terms and
conditions.
The Library's wireless access points are unsecured connections to the
Internet. The Library is not responsible for data transmitted or loss of
information over the wireless network. Users should be aware that third
parties may be able to obtain information about users' activities when
using the wireless service to connect to the Internet. The Library assumes
no responsibility for the security and privacy of on-line transactions.
The service will support devices that use the 802.11b/g protocol, which is
the main standard used for wireless access on laptop computers. PDAs
(personal digital assistants) may use different standards, but will work if
they have an 802.11b or g card.
Wireless users are responsible for the protection of their devices from
viruses, spyware and spam.
The Library is not responsible for the safety of equipment or for laptop
configurations.
The Library provides basic instructions on how to connect to the network
but is not able to provide technical assistance.
Printing is not available from the wireless connection.

Funding to support the wireless Internet service at Toronto Public Library was
generously provided by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
