SIZE: One Size - to fit 7”-7.5” (18cm-19cm) hand circumference

YARN: Bulky (Chunky) Weight. Approximately 120 yards (110m)

Pictured in Deramores Vintage Chunky, 50% Merino Wool, 50% Acrylic, 153yards (140m) per 100gr.
Colour: Chalk

NEEDLES: US 6 /4mm circulars with 32” (80cm) cable, US 8/ 5mm circulars with 32” (80cm) cable

GAUGE: 15 sts 22 rows to 4” (10cm) in stockinette on larger size needles

NOTIONS: cable needle (optional if you are familiar with the technique of cabling without a
cable needle), tapestry needle, stitch marker (optional, to mark the beginning of rounds), scrap
yarn

ABBREVIATIONS & STITCH GUIDE

CO – Cast on
BO – Bind off
sts - stitches
K – knit
P – purl
M1R – Make one right: Insert left needle from back to front under the strand of yarn which runs
between the stitch just worked and the next stitch on left hand needle. Lift the strand up and knit
through the front loop.
M1L – Make one left: Insert left hand needle from front to back under the strand of yarn which
runs between the stitch just worked and the next stitch on left hand needle. Lift the strand up and
knit through back loop.
C2B – slip next stitch onto cable needle and hold at the back of work, K1, then K1 from the cable
needle.
C2F – slip next stitch onto cable needle and hold at the front of work, K1, then K1 from the cable
needle.
C4B – slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at the back of work, K2, then K2 from the cable
needle.

C4F – slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold at the front of work, K2, then K2 from the cable
needle.
ssk – slip, slip, knit: slip next 2 sts one by one knitwise, return them to left hand needle, then knit
them together through the back of the loops.
K2tog – knit 2 sts together
Rep – repeat

PATTERN BEGINS
Using US 6 (4mm) needles and the long tail cast on, CO 32 sts.
Join to begin working in the round making sure not to twist the stitches.

RIBBING
Round 1: *K1, P1, rep from * to end
Rep Round 1 for 13 more times

SET UP ROUND
Change to US 8 (5mm) needles

Round 17 (Right Hand): K3. Put next 6 sts on scrap yarn. Using backwards loop cast on add 6 sts
on the right needle. Continue in Round 1 pattern.

THUMB
Using US 6 (4mm) needles join the yarn and pick up the 6 sts from the scrap yarn, 1 stitch
between the last stitch from the scarp yarn and first stitch from the cast on stitches. Continue by
picking up the 6 CO stitches and 1 stitch between last CO stitch and the first stitch that was on
scrap yarn. (14 sts).
K in the round for 15 rows.

THUMB DECREASE
Round 1: K2tog to the end of round
Round 2: K2tog till the last st. K1.
BO the tip by drawing the tapestry needle through the remaining stitches and fastening them,
weaving in the end on the inside of the thumb.

FINISHING
Weave in the ends and enjoy!
