Aaron Flint gave the Veterans Day Address Monday
morning at the Glasgow High School Auditorium.
His speech included his time spent in Iraq and
Afghanistan (it included a few humorous moments
that had a very good crowd on hand chuckling) and
a more somber message of what Veterans Day
means to him, which is distinct from Memorial Day.
Aaron has the rank of Major in the United States
Army Reserve and is an Iraq and Afghanistan
Veteran. He actually didn’t give it much thought of
joining the military until that dreadful day of 9-11-
01. Veterans Day celebrates the service of all
U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day honors

those who have died while in military service. Major
hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the
11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918,
when the Armistice with Germany went into effect.
100 years ago yesterday — November 11, 1919 —
U.S. President Woodrow Wilson issued a message
to his countrymen on the first Armistice Day, in
which he expressed what he felt the day meant
to Americans. On June 1, 1954, “Armistice” was
replaced with “Veterans,” and it has been known as
Veterans Day since. There was a two-minute pause
in memory of our departed Veterans precisely on
the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month.

Sigmundstad New President of TREG
The Board of Directors of Two Rivers Economic
Growth, a local nonprofit development organization
serving Valley County, Montana, is announcing changes
to its executive team.
First, its newly appointed officers include President
Melissa Sigmundstad of Cottonwood Inn & Suites, Vice
President Jennifer Robley of The Town of Fort Peck, and
Secretary Michelle Eliason of Milk River. New board
members include Wade Sundby- The Superintendent of
Glasgow Public Schools, Brady Burgess of Farm Bureau,
and Connie Boreson of the Busted Knuckle.
Directors are considered key partners in the planning
and growth of Valley County and its communities. The
Board meets every first Tuesday of the month at noon
at the Cottonwood Inn in Glasgow which is open to the
public.

Finally, another trip to State!
Wolf Point played host to the Northern B Volleyball
Tournament this past weekend, and after an easy opening-
round victory over Great Falls Central, the Scotties were
upset by Great Falls after taking a 2-0 set lead.
But the Glasgow girls bounced back with three
victories in a row, knocking off Malta and Fairfield on
Friday to secure a spot in the state tournament.
On Saturday, they got some revenge on the Coyotes
to set up a championship match between Glasgow and
Choteau. But the well-rested Bulldogs handled the Scotties
in three.

Millenials: The Real
Truth
Folks, are you ready for some
thought provoking stuff? This story
will be aimed directly at the many
Millenials who are beginning to fill the
congressional seats in their respective states and many are
in the US Congress. Let me tell you why this a bad situation
for your kids and grandchildren.
If the Democrats (Liberal Millenials) take hold of the
congress America will cease being the America most of us
know.
No one remembers Herbert Hoover but if one will do
some research they will discover that our 31st President
took the reins and made America whole again after being
in a slump for a decade or so under Democrat rule.
Unemployment was down, the economy was good,
Hoover was dealing with the immigration problem by
removing the illegals from our borders and there actually
was a “chicken in every pot” far before FDR said there was
and there actually wasn’t.
In spite of the good condition of the nation the
democrat/socialist faction managed to get FDR elected
and the troubles began.
He started his socialist programs, his give-aways and
his freebies in an attempt to win votes. It worked for him
getting him elected four times.
Sound familiar? We have a good president in the
White House right now who is doing good for the country
as did Herbert Hoover but the Democrats are not happy.
Now there’s an understatement! Not Happy? I’d say
Obsessed would be the operative word.
But here’s my pernt.
The records show there are 10,000 Millenials reaching
voting age every day. It doesn’t take a wizard mathematician
to see how many new voters there will be in a year. Millions
of new Millenial voters and the loss of millions of Boomer
voters is a recipe for disaster.
Why disaster? Here’s why.
What do the Millenials crave most? Government
sponsored Medicare-for-all. They want their student debts
paid off by the government. They want free college tuition.
They want free medical care for illegal immigrants and the
free-for-all goes on and on.
And if those programs aren’t enough to bankrupt the
country their proposal of a Universal Basic Income will
indeed tip the scale.
Ask any one of them “where is the money coming
from to pay for all the freebies” and all you get is a blank
stare and a weakly phrased “from the government.”
The Millenials aren’t fans of capitalism, the very thing
on which this country was breast-fed and nurtured into
the great nation it once was and the country President
Trump is trying to revive. And doing quite nicely I might
add.
The Millenials and the Genzies need to take a good
look at what socialism did for Venezuela. Madura devalued
the currency 96% and hiked the minimum wage 3,000%.
Politics, at its core is “who gets what, how, when and
where.”
As the Blue Wave grows as more Millenials reach
voting age they are the one’s who will decide the “what,
when and where.” Yikes! Unacceptable.
The coming Blue Wave will be catastrophic, being
larger than just one or two election cycles.
A noted economist at Northwestern University
warned “Record numbers of Millenials are signing-up to
run for local office in 2018.”
Pat Buchanan says “the Republican Party is facing a
demographic death sentence.”
And lastly, the Quinnipiac Poll has found that
Millenials are opposed to capitalism and that only 19%
of Americans aged 18 to 29 approve of President Trump’s
Presidency.
Remember this folks. In a free society such as ours
Capitalism works....Capitolism doesn’t.
Nancy Pelosi says she’s opposed to impeaching
President Trump. Here’s why. Remember Clinton? His
approval rate went up to 70% AFTER he was impeached!
Go figure!

graduated from Nashua high school. The next year,
she moved to Glasgow and married Charles DeTienne
on April 1st, 1950. Beryl worked at the Frances Mahon
Deaconess Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide for many years.
She made many wedding and birthday cakes. Her
hobbies included gardening, sewing and a good game
of pinochle. She enjoyed family time at the cabin and
cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and
Alpha Traver; her husband Charles (Charlie); all 4 of
her children, Randy, Martin (Marty), Michael and
Cathy; and her granddaughter Cassandra. Siblings that 41 First St. N.
preceded her include Charles (Chuck), Duane (Spud),
Don (Doc), Judy and George.
Beryl is survived by her sister, Tess (Larry) Watterud
and her daughters Brenda and Tami; her daughter in Fall
law, Tracy (Ralph) Arnold; her 6 grandchildren, Kay
DeTienne (Ray Greenough), Crystal Fallat, Victor Spa Special
