Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan for English 5 (Tenses of Verb)

I. Objectives:
At the end of the discussion, the students will be able to:

 Identify what are the tenses of verb


 Write sentences using past, present and future tense.
 Understand and value the tenses of verb.

II. Subject Matter:


Topic: Tenses of Verb

Time Allotment: 60 minutes
Instructional Materials: Cartolina, DLP (Projector) Task Card, Pictures,
Marker, Rubrics and piece of paper
III. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activity
1. Daily Routine
- Prayer
- Greetings
- Cleanliness of the classroom
- Checking of Attendance
Class Agreement
- Sit properly
- Listen and Participate to the discussion
- Raise your right hand if you want to ask question and clarification.
2. Review
- I have here cards with your pictures on it.
- I will choose a person to pick one card
- Then show it to the class
- The chosen person is the one who will answer the question.
3. Motivation
- The teacher will post the picture on the board and pupils will
identify what is happening in every picture.

B. Lesson Proper/ Discussion
“Tenses of Verb”

1. Activity
- The class will be divided into three groups:
The teacher will post three pictures (of door which are color green, red,
and blue) on the board and students will choice whenever they want to go.

Group 1: Green
Group 2: Red
Group 3: Blue

Group1. Make a skit of what you did yesterday. (Role play)


Group2. Identify the action or activity that is happening in the picture.
(Picture Analysis)
Group3. Give at least five sentences about your plans this coming summer
vacation, underline the verb used and identify its tense.
(Identifying the verb and its tense)

(5 minutes preparation, 3 minutes presentation)

3. Abstraction
Based on what you have learned:
Teacher will give a piece of paper to their pupils and write their knowledge
and understanding about the topic that already discussed.
- And exchange their work to their seatmate and read it aloud.

4. Application

Ask the students to write on their diary about what happened yesterday
and today then what do they expect to happen for tomorrow. Underline the verb
used.

VI. Evaluation

Directions: Underline the tense verb or verb in each sentence below.


And identify what tense it used. (2 points each)
