TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Since the dawn of the civilization Civil Engineering, has played a vital role in human world,
making its contribution to make life easy for mankind. The scientific, mathematical and
challenging work of a civil engineer fascinated me from the beginning of my primary education.
Moreover, when I was at school, whenever I get a chance to visit a construction site or I see a
person wearing safety helmet and a jacket, I consider him/her an engineer. I thought that
he/she on the site are the only ones who can solve any problem and can face any challenge,
when they come across any, and which inspired me a lot. Furthermore, whenever I saw a guy
carrying different construction drawings or maps and the ones looking at those maps on site,
was also other reason that increased my desire to command project drawings and to be
involved in management field. My interest for Civil Engineering was further increased when I
saw the tall and attractive building with creative designs on TV and newspapers. A key role of
Civil Engineers is to design, construct and maintain the infrastructure. But in my opinion, an
engineer needs to be a leader as well because managing a project is something that requires
leadership qualities.

My ambition for future is to become a fully qualified Civil Engineer and to work my way up in a
large construction companies to become a Project Manager or Construction Manager. I have a
passion to design and complete projects where I can utilize and promote my creativity of
building and leave a landmark for engineering world. I have read many case studies and
personally met with people who have achieved this and I am working hard to gain the skills
and knowledge such challenging project require. Looking for an adequate system to manage a
construction project, civil engineers are constantly seeking innovative techniques to manage
time, cost and quality of civil projects. Admission into this program would be a step towards
becoming a better and more educated civil engineer. It is a perfect addition to the knowledge I
obtained in undergraduate school, where I have acquired strong principles of physics and
mathematics for planning design, construction, and operation of infrastructure projects. I hope
to learn and explore more in structural and non-structural fields, obtaining knowledge in
mitigation of natural and anthropic hazards and risk management.

I am a proud Civil Engineer, with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Imperial College of Business
Studies (ICBS). I am a very dedicated, disciplined and intellectual person, which allowed me to
graduate never having to repeat any of my courses, or retake the exams. I believe that my
graduation provided me the most basic and essential skills and knowledge of modern civil
engineering. The undergraduate curriculum introduced me to a wide variety of subjects in the
field of Construction management. Various courses in my degree like Construction
Engineering, Engineering Economics and Construction Management provided me with a
strong footing in construction and real estate management field. Planning and management
and structure designing and analysis were the most enjoyable subjects and I aspire to work in
the same field, to get to their outcomes.
Other than my bachelor degree I have also successfully completed many courses such as I
also have a diploma in Project Management, AutoCAD, AutoCAD (Civil), Quantity Surveying
and Microsoft Office professional.
In addition to my studies I completed two internships in both private and public sectors where I
got involved in some of the largest projects in my country. After graduation, I worked for a
construction and real estate company where I went through various kinds of real estate
challenges and after that I also worked in a military based construction company (Frontier
Works Organization, FWO) where I was not only part of military-construction projects but also
few international projects two of the famous international projects are China–Pakistan
Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Development of Kartarpur Corridor (between India and
Pakistan). Working under hard situations and in hard areas have always helped me to learn
more. Likewise, the practical experience of designing and working on the site really helped me
a lot to gain hands on experience in understanding variety of techniques and skills of
managing the site and analyzing the structure by using variety of computer aided software’s.
As I like and enjoy the challenging works, I was more inclined towards construction
management from where I realized that construction management is the field I want to
specialize in at any cost.
I have chosen to apply for the Real Estate and Construction Management program because it
perfectly fits my ambitions and equips me with the needed skills to pursue my dream in the
construction management field. By deeply reviewing the program content and courses
available online, I have found that the modules covered will best suit my research interests and
career goals. As we all know education is a matter of affection with learning, so the fruits of
higher education can be relished only when there is sync between the interest and the course
content. Taking into account my undertakings so far, I am certain that Real Estate and
Construction Management program from your prestigious institution and learning from
academics, leading international professors, and outstanding professionals, ready to guide me
toward a global understanding of the industry and also it would be the appropriate support to
achieve my goals.
Likewise, It has always prompt me to imbibe the advance knowledge, skills and implement that
knowledge in proper way after coming back to my home country such as a master degree in
Real Estate and Construction Management will not only support me to enhance my career in
various sections of construction fields but it will also help me to apply for a senior post such as
Construction Manager or Project Manager for mega projects in my previous military based
construction company (FWO) and will enhance my skills by working on National and
International projects and build my prospective career. I have also taken the initiative to set up
a youth organization at my village which will work on various different problems that our village
is currently facing i.e. clean water, cleaning of sewerage system, Construction of new housing
societies, rehabilitation of existing roads, construction of new roads and construction of few
mega projects such as Ring Road along the whole city.
Additionally, it will be the best opportunity for me to interact with people who came to study
from other parts of world. Also this will provide me a chance to know about different cultures of
the world and especially Swedish culture and language.
Considering all above factors I choose this course to become a specialist in Construction Management
and applying for the Master of Science program in Real Estate and Construction management
offered by KTH University for the autumn semester of 2020 and see myself as a perfect
candidate for this masters. I am very excited and feel very proud for applying for this master
program because I am sure it would strongly enrich my future studies and help me in my
prospective career. Moreover, I consider this program as a great opportunity to get in touch
with European culture and educational system and enhance my skills in construction
management.
Taking into account my academic performance so far and my longing to enrich my knowledge
in Civil Engineering, personal and professional experiences. As a determined and self-
motivated person, I am confident that I will be an excellent addition to the university and this
MSc program
