Study of adolescence theory, research and practice made me understand about the adolescence behaviour,
their biological and cognitive development, Mental health and wellbeing and socio-emotional development.
Moreover, adolescence theory provides deep knowledge about students’ behaviour and help teachers to
provide intervention strategies to promote wellbeing of students in the school. As a preservice teacher I
focus on the wellbeing of students apart from academic success of students. Learning is a change in the
neuron patterns in brain, Learning occurs through hard work and effort. According to adolescent theory,
Wellbeing of students in school community is vital for learning. Wellbeing can be defined as the quality
of a person's life. In order to promote wellbeing, some intervention strategies are applied based on
adolescence theory and practice. Mindfulness meditation changes the structure and function of the brain to
improve the quality of both thought and feeling as suggested by neuroscience and brain
imaging. Mindfulness intervention improves emotional, social, physical, mental and wellbeing of young
people. It reduces stress, anxiety, bad behaviour, enhance self-esteem and sleep, calmness, self-awareness,
and empathy.
being: Positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment. This model approach
to school helps them to monitor wellbeing of school community. REMA model support teachers to engage
safely. As I believe in hard work, consistency in effort and strong motivation to achieve my goal, When I
become a teacher I would like to practice GRIT model in my teaching strategy to promote students'
motivation, hard work and focus on achieving goals. The gritty individuals’ advantage is stamina who face
the challenges and achieve their goal as a marathon (Duckworth et al,2007). Study of Adolescence unit
inspire me to become agent in future to promote wellbeing and safe learning environment for students.

As a math’s teacher, I need to make understand the students about the importance of repeated practice.
Encouraged to work on problems repeatedly even if students make mistakes, as learners learn through
mistakes (Perkins-Gough, 2013). As math’s involves cognitive and problem solving, students may engage
in cooperative learning group. The peers learn quickly and never give up as they share knowledge among
group. If the problems are tough then turning that problem as a picture in the form of graph may help
students to understand (Bashant,2014). Thus, GRIT model help students to achieve their goal with hard
work which make students to feel happier and safe. Providing feedback to their parents and discussing the
concerns in particular subject helps parents to understand their children need. We all need GRIT to learn.
GRIT is a growth mindset, which can be changed through intervention and behavioural choice as suggested
by Tough (as cited in Bashanth,2014). The GRIT Model follows the principle of G- Give it your all, R-
