Basic 2 - Final Evaluation

Task Accomplishment VERY GOOD

The student followed most of the criteria to complete the two tasks for the project: This is Me in English. The student
presented all the tasks following MOST OF THE STEPS given by the teacher.

Language GOOD

Sometimes the student has difficulty to use and personalize the grammar for the level correctly. The student takes
time but produces complete statements, questions, and answers both orally and in written. The student expands
his/her ideas using the grammar from the previous course, but makes occasional mistakes that he/she can correct
mainly under the teacher’s guidance. The student uses limited vocabulary for the level and from the previous
course. The student has difficulty and takes time to identify key information from basic listening and reading activities.

Communication GOOD

The student takes time to start and keep conversations about different topics for the level. In controlled situations the
student shows confidence, but in more spontaneous activities needs guidance from the teacher or classmates. The
student needs some time to organize ideas, and he does not always express them clearly. The student resorts to a
few conversation strategies to continue and expand the conversation, show interest and express surprise. His/her
conversation is not spontaneous. The student does not always use classroom expressions to ask for help in class or
work with a partner. It takes time for the student to communicate effectively. The student uses some of the proposed
pronunciation and intonation patterns but does not always self-monitor. The student sometimes uses Spanish when
s/he feels s/he can’t express her/his ideas

Learning VERY GOOD

Most of the time, the student follows a routine to prepare and review his/her classes in order to gain confidence for
interaction. The student uses different resources to support his/her process. This student uses most of the new
learning strategies and continues to use the ones learned in the previous course. The student continues to carry out
self and peer-assessment with occasional guidance from the teacher. The student keeps on working on his/her
difficulties and follows concrete steps to improve them.

Attitude and classroom culture VERY GOOD

The student is willing to be part of the classroom community by showing behaviors and attitudes that contribute to
his/her successful learning process. The student keeps showing autonomy most of the time and he/she is committed
to set and reach his/her personal goals. The student continues being tolerant and respectful of other's contributions
and opinions. The student keeps on being punctual and follows most of the rules and routines to reach the course
objectives

Comments: Jessica, aún cuando tienes que seguir reforzando tu comunicación oral, eres capaz de comunicar cuáles
son tus rutinas e intereses. Continúa trabajando en la conjugación de verbos en tercera persona, así como en la
adquisición de nuevo vocabulario. Es muy importante seguir trabajando con los símbolos fonéticos ya que, aunque
mejoraste en este nivel, nuevo vocabulario viene y debes estar atenta a verificarlo.
