I’ll tell the students: “today you are going to start working on your projects. Have you got everything you need?” Get Commented [AV1]: You should go over the instruction
the desks together so that you can look at each other”. again and check understanding.

(5 minutes)
I’ll say: “While you are doing this project, you will need to discuss, agree and disagree on what to include and how
to do this. So before starting, let’s take a look at some useful vocabulary you might need to do so.” I’ll paste on the
board two signs: “AGREE” with a green thumb up and “DISAGREE” with a red thumb down. I’ll then show them
different phrases and they’ll have to tell me where they belong. We’ll put the signs on the classroom wall so that
they can look at them when they need them.

Activity 1. (50 minutes).


I’ll say: “Now, start working on your designs. Please, remember to try to use English as MUCH as possible. You
have 20 minutes”.

Scaffolding Strategies:
I’ll move around the classroom aiding with vocabulary, making sure they are using the agreeing and
disagreeing phrases, correcting pronunciation and praising the students on their work. I’ll make the
posters big enough so that everyone at the back can easily read them. I’ll display the posters on the
classroom wall so that students can get back to them any time they need to.

(3 minutes)
I’ll tell the students they will have to share their work with the rest of the class on Tuesday, so if they haven’t
finished, they’ll have to get together and finish. They’ll also have to agree on what they will say as every member in
the group will have to say something. Each presentation must last between 4 and 7 minutes.
