I’ll tell the students: “today we’ll start performing both plays. I asked you to start memorizing the first scenes. Have
you done so?” (They have also been studying the lines with the drama teacher). Commented [AV1]: We assume they have…
Activity 1. (30 minutes).
I’ll ask the students to get together with the drama groups. I’ll ask the first group (The Clown who…) to go to the
front of the class and start performing the play. I’ll correct pronunciation when necessary. The other group will sit at
the back of the classroom and start going over their lines in turn. I’ll practice the remaining scenes with each group,
correcting pronunciation and making sure that the transition between scenes is smoothly and makes sense.

Scaffolding Strategies: I’ll make sure the students say the lines clearly and I’ll correct pronunciation and
intonation when necessary. I’ll say the words clearly and ask them to repeat after me so that they get the sounds
right.

I’ll ask the students to memorize the whole play during the winter holidays as the performance is on Tuesday 6th
