The "BODEM" PC software provides a convenient and user-friendly

method of executing service functions for the MC Microcontrollers in BODEM / 21
the Brueninghaus Hydromatik product range (see RE 95050).
Functions such as setting parameters and displaying process data Software
and errors can now be commanded with a PC or laptop.
CD-ROM and BODEM
BODEM is a comfortable alternative to the BB-3, VT 12321 control dongle (hardlock)
panel (see RE 29798 and RE 95080-B).

Software Installation

Windows 3.11:
Using the “RUN” function under Windows start INST_311.EXE in the directory ENGLISH. INST_ 311.EXE could be started directly from the
ENGLISH directory from the CD-ROM with the Filemanager. All further instructions are provided by on-screen dialogue.

Windows 95 / 98:
Using the “RUN” function under Windows start INST_95.BAT in the directory ENGLISH. INST_ 95.BAT could be started directly from the
ENGLISH directory from the CD-ROM with the Explorer. All further instructions are provided by on-screen dialogue.

Windows NT 4.0:
Using the “RUN” function under Windows start INST_NT.BAT in the directory ENGLISH. INST_ NT.BAT could be started directly from the
ENGLISH directory from the CD-ROM with the Explorer. All further instructions are provided by on-screen dialogue.
Please note: To install BODEM on Windows NT there will be Systemadministrator rights needed. Without system-administrator right’s while
installing BODEM the Dongle (hardlock) could not be detected and not all functions of the BODEM software are working.

1) The Diagnostic connector, made by CANNON TRIDENT, *) Warning:

2) Sub-D connector, 9-pin
The BB-3 connecting cable must not be used.
Wrong connecting cables or mismatched wiring can lead to the
destruction of the PC interface.
Note: When connecting or disconnecting the BODEM-connecting
cable, the microcontroller MC and the PC have to be switched
off!

Copy Protection Dongle (Hardlock)

In order to use the BODEM program, the associated dongle must be plugged into the parallel interface of the personal computer (LPT1:,
LPT2: or LPT3:).

Starting Up and Working

– Start the BODEM program in the BODEM group under WINDOWS

– After connection has been successfully established with the MC microcontroller, the following functions are available:

Please note:
– BODEM to be applied at statup of the machine resp. service works only.
You have to plan corresponding safety regulations against endangering by unexpected operating conditions.
The application of BODEM in the serial working condition of the machine is not permitted.
– The electronics and software supplied by Brueninghaus Hydromatik do not imply any technical liability for the overall system.
– An emergency stop switch with disconnection from the power supply must be provided for the electronic components.
– The Safety Regulations conforming to RDE 90301-01 are to be observed.
– The specifications in the data sheet of the relevant hardware must be observed (see RE 95050).
